What do you guys think?
Well I went and looked at an 07 VR Touring with 23k miles...body of the car is good as well as the interior..,Drove it too! look and feels great...they had actually put 4 new Conti tires on before i went...
The sticker price was $16,832. The best they offered me was 15,900 and a few days later i offered them 14,975 for it. The salesman said the finance manager declined my offer but im wondering if you guys think that the price they're offering is a good deal or not?
Or should i stick to my offer and hope that they give in...?
Thanks,
Ty

well considering im only 19 i do have very good credit...i got the bank to loan me at best 14,5 k out the door....and thats the most they will give...the difference would be coming out of my pocket which, im okay with that as long as its worth it and you guys think its a decent deal.
Like i said its a great car...better than any other ones i've looked at.
im trading my 07 G6 coupe in, getting 8500 for it which suprised me truthfully....the payment would be 290-305 a month which i can easily afford...
The sales guy specifically said, my manager is all in on the deal so i dont know if they'll lower!
EDMUNDS says a good price would be 15,300 so im going tomorrow to offer that.
If they decline again should i just take their offer?
what is TTL by the way? lol

I don't know your financial situation, but the bank does. If they are only willing to lend you $14k, this hints that the wise, though probably less fun, choice is to wait until you have cash/credit rating/income income and get something cheaper to buy/run for now. There's not much automotively worse than making payments on a car sitting dead in your driveway 'cause you don't have the cash to fix it.

14.5k auto loan is huge. make sure you finance it at a low apr. also TTL = tax title license/regisration. they are additional fees you will have to pay on top of the negotiated price on the car. i bought my RX8 R3 pretty recently at 20 so if you have any questions feel free to shoot me a pm

Yeah I see where everyone is coming from...I think im gonna wait til the middle of next week sometime and stop by to offer them the 15,300...and yes the price they're offering is the complete price.
Lol and dont worry...im 19 still living at home and i pay for absolutely nothing! This will be the only thing, finance wise that will be in my name and I'm extremely determined to get me my dream car.
Thanks guys!

you need to consider more than just the fact that you have no bills now. If you so choose to move out, or move on, remember you will carry this loan for 5 years. So if in 2 years when you are 21 you decide to be a man and move in to your own place, well you will have to carry this loan with those bills. Keep that in mind as well and think of your over head later in life. If you sign a 5 year deal you will be 24 before its paid off.

I think you need to come up with a reasonable car payment and stick to getting a vehicle that fits that.
Just cuase you have no bills doesn't mean you won't.
Specially for people in school, get a beater car that gets you from A to B and worry about getting something nice when you are done, have a full time job and making some real money.

I could honestly suggest for you to sit down and budget yourself to what you can afford...make sure u call to get quotes from insurance companies to see if your going to be able to afford payments, insurance, and the Maintenance on the car...do some research and see if you could afford it before u actually get it
