Dealer cost to replace SSV?

Has anyone had the dealer replace their SSV? What was the cost?

Yes, I've searched... but I've seen a sticky mention $2,000+, and other posts guessing $600 ($300 parts, $300 labor). Which is closer?

"typical" price is around 600-800

Ever tear apart a car in a condo parking lot, lol? It's not the best place to work on your car

Nah, not sure it's the SSV, I'm just having a hot start / loss of power problem which I know can be many, many things. I'm just trying to get a "worst case" idea of possible costs if I pursue it.

I don't have the "marbles in can" sound or a CEL, but at 3-4,000 rpm up it just doesn't have the ooomph it normally has. Weirdly, it feels mostly normal when cold (first pulling out onto highway), but feels sluggish again by the time I'm pulling into home 30 minutes later.

Coils, catalytic, SSV, compression... I know, almost an endless list of possibilities from what I'm reading. Just trying to decide whether to keep the car and commit to whatever it's gonna cost to find and fix it, or cut my losses now (which would break my heart, it's the PERFECT car driving-wise).

I was told my SSV was making noise, and they said it would be $500.

for 2000, you can hire someone, fly over to where you live, fix it, a night at a nice 5 star hotel + all meals, parts and the person will still make at least 1K.

I had my SSV replaced about a month ago at the dealer for about $700 including labor and parts. I had a very bad ticking coming from the engine bay. Good news is I have had better gas mileage since having it done. Almost 30 miles more per tank.

I had no performance issues though as you mentioned you do. The SSV did not affect my performance whatsoever, and I also still have a hot start problem. So this may not be the fix your looking for. Just an fyi
