You use any good quality oil. Just change it(and the filter) when it gets to the add oil mark on the dip stick. This normally will be between two and four thousand miles and a good time. In the manual it recommends 5X20wt. This is what the feds want you to use. It also says if you live in a hot climate use a heavier weight oil. A few people here use 5X30wt(or heavier), where do you live it's not in your location?

Haha, I felt exactly the same way when I first drove a MT. I got upset every single time I saw a light go yellow on me, dreading taking off at the green. I would panic every time there was cars behind me (and hills? OH GOD!). Once you get the hang of it, you really have a good sense of accomplishment and fun.

In my HUMBLE opinion:
Best performance upgrades (for the price):
Racing Beat Sway bars
10.5 inch wide wheels on light weight race rims
Best cosmetic upgrade (for the price):
Mazda mud gaurds or OEM side skirt
Any front bumper upgrade
Mazda Speed spoiler
Best technical upgrade (for the price):
Escort 9600i GPS learning Radar detector
Direct iPod connection
Overall... most cost per value upgrade:
Racing Beat Sway bars
Large 10.5 inch wheels (Expensive upgrade - even better results)
Enjoy your sweet sweet car!!!
Worst Upgrade (Avoid):
Highflow CAT converter + a loud muffler. For the first 3 months it was cool... but... over 5k Revs.... my car sounds like it's being chased by an airplane through a mountain valley... it's humiliating and INDIGNIFYING!!
19 inch or 20 inch wheels... I HATE the extra bumps! felt by the thin titres I miss my just perfect 18" with a smooth (properly cushioned) RX8 ride.
