Any pictures in the day anyway? I'd be interested in seeing this.

Well for me, got the air con regased/charged for £29 on a deal in the UK... and now I have ice cold again, noticeable difference ready for the spring anyway :-0

Result, that's saved quite a bit of cash I like it :-) And don't forget to not turn it off when cold lol

At least I got free towing and will likely get all this covered under warranty/extended warranty. All signs point to a flooded engine. Didn't want to do any home fixes since I'm not sure how that would work with my warranty. That, and I'd like them to find out for me whether or not the ignition also needs replacing.

Last Thursday, I got my garage door opener replaced, and I fucked up and backed it out and let it shut down while still cold--and it was surprisingly cold here in Phx that day. What's even worse is, I did it TWICE! I didn't heed the warning of the extended time it took to start the car after the first cold start/stop. I pulled it back up into the garage after the garage guy was done. I started it, pulled it back in, and ******* turned the car off like an idiot. Mind you, this was after it was sitting in outside air for a couple of hours, cooling down even more than when it was in the garage.

Lesson learned.
WTH? I think you are the first person to flood a Series 2. Are you sure the dealership didn't just BS you? What year is it? Are you sure the battery wasn't just dying or something? lol

Just got finished swapping out my Pioneer AppRadio 2 for a JVC KWNT800HDT in my RX-8.

It took about an hour because I had to undo the mess of taking out my PAC TR7 (used to bypass the Pioneer) and clean up the wiring before I stuck the JVC in. I mounted the GPS antenna behind the middle AC vent, and the SiriusXM antenna to the back seat of the drivers side.

Took it out on a test drive to test out the Satellite and GPS signal, and both performed fantastic. I did lose the GPS signal a bit with the tall buildings in Downtown/Midtown Manhattan, but it was negligible. Best GPS I've used by far. Bypassing the unit only consisted of grounding the parking brake wire.

And the one thing I wanted the most, was Bluetooth Audio which worked perfectly with full track information on the unit using my Lumia with Rdio. My Nexus 4 also worked but did not broadcast the AVRCP information to the unit.

I went from AM/FM and iPhone compatibility to AM/FM/HD Radio/SiriusXM/Bluetooth Audio/iPod/Pandora/DVD/CD/SD/USB and everything controls perfectly with my steering wheel with Metra Axxess AWSC.

This pic does not do it justice because it highlights the radio in an unflattering way. In person, it looks a million times better than the Pioneer did, and much better than stock. It demolishes the Pioneer in sound quality too.

Next week I am going to install a sub box I had lying around. I'll take a video of everything then.

^We're close enough to meet up. Two 40th Anniversary editions together sounds like a win.

Nah.

My service guy has always been straight with me. Same guy who got me a new transmission at no out of pocket cost. As a matter of fact, I've taken my car to this dealership a total of three times (the first being to get the plastic hole pieces on my Recaros replaced), and I have yet to actually pay them any cash for any of the work. Unless he's somehow managing to fleece Mazda NA for all the work they've done so far, in which case that's not my issue. Oh, and they wash my car after every service as well.

What's even funnier is, I didn't buy my car from them. I bought my car from the Chevy dealership from across the street.

Drove it to work, then got to work and realized I had a nice pile of bird doo on it. So I washed it on my lunch break. Shame my office window looks in the opposite way of the parking lot.

Quite amusing how many of the posts in this thread include something that has to do with changing oil or ignition related.

^ I'm doing both tomorrow check for my post!

Edit- Isn't that a good thing though? Seems like people are learning about the car and taking care of it properly. Better than a bunch of post about replacing engines.

Any luck with your rear lights? I just now noticed that my high-mount (third) brake light isn't working. Replaced the 7440 bulb and all fuses are still good, trying search the forum for a solution.

Addendum: Fixed third brake light harness.

Had this issue about a year ago, and it caused my DSC to go on the Fritz.

----------------------------------

But, washed it, cleaned it out, armor all'd the interior, got rid of some really annoying squeaks and rattles, installed some sound deadening around the trans tunnel and changed my coils. Holy ****, it feels so good. Not too shabby for 180k.

I know, I still need a Grille, and trust me...it's driving me up the wall.

^When I was searching the forum for my fix; I read threads of members who installed LED third brake lights, that was one of the symptoms they had, the low resistance to light up the LED lights caused the TC/DSC to go on.

So I haven't "done" anything yet... Kinda hard to do that when there's 6900 miles between you and your car!

However I did spend a little cash over the last couple of weeks:

- Falken RT-7M rims (18x8)
- N2O system ( bottle, nozzles for direct port, remote opener, heater, purge kit, remote gauge) this one I had laying around -
- Accessport v2
- Garmin GPS
- TurboXS CBE and RP

I guaranteed the rest of the winter will be mild by fixing my performing the heater control repair DIY in the DIY forum. It sucked because last week was really cold (by California standards)

I also had a Pioneer AVIC-x940BT installed last week.
