Braided steel brake lines

Can only improve an already excellent stock brake system.

I managed to install them without having to bench-bleed the master. Phew!

never liked the OEM steering wheel. I felt it was for smaller hands so I had a steering wheel cover on for years til I found the autoexe which feels much more ergonomic.

Went to the track. In the rain. On slicks. Sigh.

But, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and it turned out to be a beautiful day for 3 of the sessions.

I love going on-track in the rain. That's when I really learn fast hands and car control.

And also learn just how strong my sphincter muscles are...

Don't get me wrong. I like track driving in the rain too. You can learn a ton. On appropriate tires. But, the weather forecast was clear and sunny, so I only took slicks. There was no point in going out there like that, so I mostly stood around for the 1st 5 hours. The day ended well, however, and a bad day at the track is still better than a good day at work.

Picked up a 23mm & 24mm socket today at lowes, and ordered new crush washers from the dealer. Plan on changing trans and diff fluid next week :D

New steering wheel

Not sure if I like the S2 steering wheel for how it looks and the button controls or the OEM MX-5 NB Nardi wheel that I got from the junkyard for $10. The Nardi definitely feels more like a drivers wheel, but when I actually start driving the car i'll decide then probably.

*And yes I know, my spirit R seats are dirty as **** (they'll be fully restored soon enough lol)

Love the red accenting on those S2 gauges. How are they? I've read the fuel gauge is inaccurate.

Well since it was nice out i ended up putting an Axialflow short shift in and a Sohn adapter with idemitsu premix in the tank.

I took it for a little cruise and then took her for a nice bath and hand dry.

The more i drive this thing, the more i wish i could have bought one new.

cant wait for the rx9 to come if it eer does. the only disappoint with the 9 so far is the delete of the back seats. My daughter is always asking to ride in the race car and am disappointed the the vision is going to be a 2 seater.

I guess by the time mazda releases the 9, my daughter will be able to ride in the front seat, maybe.

Removed exhaust manifold. O2 sensor was cross threaded and stripped as it came out. booo, new sensor $170.
Ceramic coated AutoEXE header, RB exhaust ready to join the resonated BHR midpipe. Looking forward to it.
Race Roots engine mounts ordered. I filled the stock mounts but not happy with how much the engine feels like it's moving around.

Drove her up to Buttonwillow and back Sunday. 200 miles each way. You can drive hard at 4 am. It was a good carbon clearing trip, she is running like a charm.

At Buttonwillow the alarm kept going off by itself (I think because of loud exhaust driving by) and the key fob wouldn't work to turn it off. Had to physically unlock the car with the door button. Guessed it's because the battery was getting weak. Changed the battery yesterday and key fob works like a charm from good distance.

While getting the battery at O'Reillys, I picked up a couple of quarts of Lucas premix, and at the check out I noticed they raised the price from 6 something to $9.99. Wtf? Seems for a couple more bucks I can get the Idemitsu from ebay now....

If the car was still a series I then ya, fuel gauge inaccuracy would likely be an issue, but with the Series II setup it shouldn't, but I still have the series I fuel tank, so might not ever read full unless Mazda edit will allow me to change the fuel tank capacity stored on the ECU. The S2 fuel level senders and S2 pump drop right in so I think fuel tank capacity might be my only issue

Just cleaned up the garage a bit, the car is still far from complete, but at least now it's not surrounded by a **** ton of old S1 parts lol

*I really need to get moving on this thing, I just want to drive it already and start putting miles on the clock, but for now i'll just keep taking more time to get everything done right so it doesn't bite me in the *** later

I've been paying $10 for the semi-syn for a couple of years.
Were you buying regular 2 stroke before?
