Does anyone know the brand of oil (not the viscosity, etc.) added at the factory???

 

u mean engine oil? i really have no idea wat brand they added. but just add 5w-20 will be fined. i guess maybe the dealer know.. if they don't u can e-mail mazda and ask about it.

 

It might be Mazda-branded oil. Companies like Toyota and Honda sell their own bottles of motor oil, and I would suspect Mazda might do the same. As for the ultimate manufacturer, who knows...

 

Indeed Mazda do sell and use their own branded Oil... I actually bought a couple of quarts from my dealer.. as the bottles fit perfectly into the rear, upright, inbetween the seats, storage compartment... Useful for emergencies...

Mazda also told me in reply to a question I emailed them, that they only use their own Mazda branded 5W/20 Mineral oil.. at the factory.

 

Has anyone tried buying a case of this stuff (Mazda branded) for regular use? If so, is it competitively priced?

 

How often do you have to add oil to these things???

 

A quart per 2400 miles.
