this sure is a strange twist of events. yesterday you guys were bashing on someone who you all thought was too young to drive a rx8 today your helping someone to talk his dad into getting one. so are you all going to bash him after he gets it so he too gets upset and quits the forum?

Actually, there's more than one person on this board.

IIRC, insurance rates are also based on your credit record.

Correct me if I am wrong.

See if you dad can be convinced by using the last reason that was suggested.

No actually I don't live with him and my mom would never keep me under hers because she didn't approve of my dad buying it in the first place, the only two things tat makes my insurance somewwhat low is 3 driving schools and certificates and Good student discount.

$650/mo, or $650 per 6/mo period?

Surely not 650 a month, that's like 500% of normal rates.

Do you total a car daily or something?

Your list is good, but the above two items aren't quite right: my RX8 has 8 airbags: 2x rear pillars, 2x front pillars, 2x front seats, steering wheel, dashboard (I dunno if the AT is different). Also, the six speed isn't geared for fuel economy so I wouldn't bring that up. I'd mention that because it has relatively low torque (and thus not much off-the-line acceleration) the RX-8 is not suited for drag racing.

Insurance

Insurance is cheaper on our RX8 then it was on the Mustang Conv. 6 We traded on new RX8. We pay $550.00 a year on the RX8 full coverage.
