Went driving today, god I love my 8
I've had my Rx8 for a while now, and although I love the car and have become pretty obsessed about it I've been iffy about starting to mod the car because I wasn't 100% satisfied with the power. However, I made the decision the other day that regardless I'm sticking it out for the long haul with the car and today I had a bunch of free time, and the weather was nice, so I decided it was a great time to go driving just for fun. Most of the time my 8 is being used as daily driver transport to and from the office. Granted it's the best part of my day, but it's largely a big highway and a couple of straight shots from here to there and back. Today was time for something different, so I went to pick up a friend and he and I found miles of windy and completely unoccupied forested road and just talked while I put the car through it's paces.
Holy crap. For anybody that has only gotten to drive an Rx8 on highways crammed with other cars, or neighborhoods you need to take a nice winding drive. With nobody around I got a chance to keep the car in it's power band (where it is impressively fast) and effortlessly sweep it around the roads. I couldn't believe how fast the car was, how smoothly it handled, or how comfortable the ride was. I drove 120 miles this afternoon of winding back roads and I've never loved this car more.

I like driving through the city at night and finding back-road neighborhoods with lots of twisty roads. I can't go very fast (pesky cops), but I love feeling this car stick to the road like glue. I won't get to drive it out where I grew up until next year, but I am looking forward to that a lot, because the roads out there are all kinds of twisty!
