Weird Beep (overload on electric?)
This happens quite often and I'm almost sure its the battery, but I figured I'd present my problem and see what you guys think... When I'm driving with my high beams, stereo and the heater on the interior lights get dim and the blower slows down a little. Flip the high beems off and it goes back to normal.
Tonight it started happening and I had the stereo up higher than normal, but this time I heard a beep that wouldn't stop until I either turned the radio down a little, shut the high beams off or shut the blower off. Seems like I don't have enough power which could be an alternator or a battery? Would an alternator be under warranty (I know the battery probably isn't)?
Completely stock 05' 6spd manual. I tried searching, but low power brought up a bunch of threads about low lowend torque and beep brought up redline beep. Sorry

Stock stereo and no, its a normal sounding beep like when the low tire pressure light comes on, but it stays on (unless I turn the high beems off, slow the blower or lower the volume). I think I might open the battery box tomorrow and see if its the original.

Sounds like alternator to me, but just for grins..........check and clean all your connections coming to and from the alternator and battery. It's possible that you have a high resistive contact if the connections have corrosion on them. But don't know why you would be getting a beep?????

Haha I don't redline like that anymore (you're referring to the 10 second redline thing I used to do?). I was just ill-informed about the subject and figured it wouldn't hurt it, but i'm glad you remembered
