I take my car home to spend an hour or two washing it. I don't trust others to wash my car. I'll even tell the dealer not to wash it.

I wash my 8 myself. Compared to my Ford Exploder and truck, it is SO easy. I spend maybe 8 or 10 minutes for the wash and rinse and about the same to chamois if off, depending how warm the air is. Next, I open all of the doors and trunk so I can clean and dry the door seals and then vacuum the floor mats, etc.
Total time for a good washing and cleaning is easily less than 30 minutes.

I wash my own, not for the $ saving, but because I want it done right. My wife's car (and my truck) on the other hand... I take those somewhere to have them washed because I'm not as concerned with the outcome.

I wash it myself, because I want it done right. I use the Mr Clean Autodry carwash kit. The car comes out perfect, without a single waterspot. I highly reccommend it.

soap i use is McGuiars (sp?) gold . works superbly . then some armor-all on my tires. black is a very nice color when clean. but it's the only color to stay clean for the least amount of time.

I wash my Baby myself. Although, I kinda get annoyned with that stream of water that comes out of the two rear windows and the front of the mirrors. But other than that, I don't trust car washes because I have heard too many sad stories of people's cars getting damaged there.

My car will probably NEVER see the inside of a car wash.

Always washed at home and yeah Tekk, that dripping water DRIVES ME INSANE!

I usally dry it then race around the block to get the water out then dry off the water that just came out.

I guess I could use a can of compressed air for this but its just not as fun.

i dropped off my 8 with the guys at the bottom of my parking structure at work for the first time. i was nervous about the outcome, but was pleasantly surprised with the results when they brought my keys back up that afternoon. with the exception of some waterspots, it looked sweet-***-sweet. i live in an apartment with really no room for self-washing...so i dont really have a choice. i would definitely self-wash if i had the choice though

i wash my car, since all the car wash places are always busy they get pissed when i take the bucket out and hand wash it So instead of leisurly washing it i have to do a mad dash with washing while keeping the timer on so ppl don't get pissed and say I'm not paying so i should be hand washing..

Also anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of the annoying dead bugs/tree sap on the front bumper? i've never been able to get rid of all the crap and don't really trust anything that hasn't been tried on the 8 before..
