after washing my car a few times, someone at work pointed out that my rims/disk brakes needed some tlc too, but car soap and water don't seem to be doing the trick. what do you all use to get rid of that rust color on the brakes and rims. btw i have the stock 18s on my car.

 

Ok before you get told to search, any good Mazda dealer should remove that for free, under warranty. Just go to your best Mazda dealer in your area, and tell them that you want it taken off under warranty. They should do it.

 

Do you mean the brake rotors or the wheel hubs?

If you mean the wheel hubs, then the dealer should sand and paint ithem like RX8Zoomzoom said.

If you mean there's rust on the brake rotors, then the corrective action is go for a drive! The braking action will clean the rotors in no time.

 

This probably sounded sarcastic, but it's quite true.

 

there are a few special brake dust remover products out there that are supposed to power away that stuff, but be careful which one you get, they have special ones for forged rims which might eat away at the finish, and whatever you do, keep brushes away from your precious rims, use microfiber only lest you want to scratch them up.

Another way to avoid that is to go with ceramic brake pads, but that's expensive unless you have the money.
