Talking I got me one....

05 Nordic Green 6 speed GT
I've been lurking around here and sifting thru all this great info and entertaining comments and really appreciate the help it has provided me in making this choice. Thanks.

I'll be picking it up on Saturday morning. Now I need to read up on the best break-in methods.

Congrats. The break-in is simple, just dont drive it like you stole it.

I just read the tread, "breaking in the 8". I think your advice is the best yet.

The owners manual talks a little about break-in. Basically, don't drive a lot at high rpm first 600 miles although for this car high is a relative term.

I drive too much for work, and have to get a new Grand Caravan every 18 months. I usually do it just like that though. Since I drive so much in a day, they break in quick. With the 8, I'll vary the rpms as much as I can, but won't go nuts for a few hundred miles at least.

Yeah, you mention the manual. I gotta get me a PDF. Thought I saw mention of it and a link here somewhere. Good bathroom reading tonight on my laptop.

Picking up the new car tomorrow so I didn't get the physical manual yet. I downloaded the PDF from a link here and looked through it last night. Can't wait to get the car.

Picked up my new Green 8 and put my first 100 miles on-nice!

So easy to drive. Fits like a glove. Can't wait to drive again.

Congratulations, and welcome! As stated above, just don't run it at steady RPMs for extended periods and you will be fine. I am assuming your 8 has the black interior. That should look quite nice.

Yep, looks and feels great. Just got my second 100 miles into my break in. I can really see where the gas can go-this thing really wants to rev.

Welcome aboard fellow Nordic Greener--best looking color in my opinion.

Thanks everyone. Everyone at work thinks its a great color. I would've bought any of the colors-think they all look nice. But I thought this the most unique excluding the Shinka.

I have now 550 miles and everything is great except for a rattle on the right front piller cover for the SRS. Its intermittent but its definately due to the fit of the cover and what is underneath. Think it happens due to the cold days and the bumps I go over.

Otherwise its perfect. Will consider it broken in later today and can't wait to go fast.

6 speed GT with Spare and shock sensor...under $27k(not including taxes and tags). Worked with three dealers on price but this was the best. Think the bottom will be lower soon but I wanted a GT and was seeing them begin to move. Best deals are coming for those wanting sports.

Was gonna buy a Mini S originally and felt I got close in price with the 8. Looked at the other 2-seaters, but really wanted a four seater.
