Yea...it is one of the reasons why they are so cheap. You took the car As Is and totalled. Mazda wouldn't be able to tell you what damage was caused by the accident so they could not effectively warranty anything.

Umm.....regardless of your title's status that "too long list of mods" you have would have them laughing you out of the service department asking for warrantee work

I get why you would buy one w/ a salvage title, (in theory) lots of things could have sent a car over that edge but the car is still perfectly functional and looks good. (also in theory) Not to mention you could pick one up like that for say half what it would cost for one w/o said salvage title, so we should give him a little break there.
But......it's on the consumer to be aware that there ARE some very poignant drawbacks to saving all that $, one is of course a lack of any sort of warrantee, there are a host of others but I'm not sure the OP wanted the discussion to go that way.
just for example........havent we all read about the entire shipload of brand spanking new Mazdas that were scrapped, many with no damage or minor bumps and bruises? Had that not been so highly publicized all those thousands of cars might have been sold on the open market as salvage but been perfect brand new cars (Mazda would have just given them no warrantee).
(note, I my "in theory"s are in hopes that the OP didn't get duped and still pay retail for his car but got a heafty discount by a forthright rebuilder)
