warranty

quick question for you guys... do you happen to know as to what extent the warranty is? all the dealer told me was 4year/50,000miles. i ask cause on my past car, if a light bub burns out or my wiper blade needs to be changed i just bring it to the dealer. do we get the same treatment from mazda?

Also, when you get your oil change does mazda give a complimentary car wash?

thanks!

Same here, the dealer told me nothing...

What's the bumper-to-bumper warranty and the engine warranty?! Anyone know.?

I've looked in the owner's manual and it's not clearly explained in there either.

the warrenty is not in the manual but it is part of all of those papers that came with it when you picked up your car.

edit: from the faq at www.mazdausa.com

"What is covered under the manufacturer's warranty?
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 2003 model years and newer is 48-months/50,000-miles, whichever comes first, from the original in-service date. It covers defects in material or workmanship.

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 2002 model years and older is 36-months/50,000 miles, whichever comes first, from the original in-service date. It covers defects in material or workmanship.

All warranty work must be performed at an authorized Mazda dealer.

Certain parts of the vehicle may have a different warranty than the standard warranty. The coverage is for defects in material or workmanship. The following are some of the different warranties for Mazda vehicles:
Adjustments - 12-months/12,000-miles
Airbags (Safety Restraint System) - 60-month/60,000-miles
Brake Lining/Pad - 12-months/12,000-miles
Clutch Disc - 12-months/12,000-miles
Perforation - 60-months/unlimited mileage
Seatbelts (Safety Restraint System) - 60-month/60,000-miles (1991 model years and newer)
Tires - warranted by the tire manufacturer (link to section of tire manufacturer)
Wiper Blades - 12-months/12,000-miles
Emissions parts are very specific and regulated by the government. Please refer to your authorized Mazda dealership for a diagnosis and information on warranty coverage"

im not doing all the work for you. you have to do some on your own. follow the mazdausa link or or call them or go to a dealer and ask them to show it to you.

Wow, harsh answer for a simple question. Thanks for your help, but I'll look elsewhere for further answer to my question.

sorry that was supposed to have a after it but they don't show up thru the quick reply box i guess.
but you know i could have in the first place just said "do a search" or " go read the documents that came with the car" but i didn't. i gave you advice as to where to look, gave you a link and a quote. jeez do someone a favor and they want you to do the rest and then get upset when you don't do it.

I'm not some kid who needs to be talked down to. I don't appreciate it.
i don't talk down to "kids" i did not talk "down" to you because i thought you were one. you got that answer for being one of about 200 people on here who have questions that could have been answered if they just read the paper that came with their cars. don't jump on me because you haven't done so.

so you have read everything you were given and can't find the powertrain information. perhaps when you were down there picking up the car and signing on the dotted line for it you should have made sure that you had all the info and paper you were supposed to have. but since you didn't i will, when i get to work tomorrow, have with me the power train info you are looking for and i will scan it in and post it. then you should go down to your dealer and have them give you a copy of it also.

No thanks, I don't need nor do I want your help. I'll find the information I require from a fellow owner who is willing to kindly help out another owner with a simple question. How hard is it to say 48months/50,000 miles?

um meeh said that in the first post in this thread. so i thought you wanted some more specific wording. again, i don't mind helping, ask any number of people here and out side of here, but if that was all you wanted you should have found that out when you purchased the car.

people need to be pro active about knowing what they are buying and not just wait for someone to tell them. we have people come in to our store all the time with situations like this: hi i have this gas fireplace in my house and i don't think it's working right. us: so what is it doing or not doing. them: well we moved into the house 3 years ago and it hasn't worked in 2 and when it did there was this funny smell. us: do you know what kind of unit it is or who made it? them: no. us: do you know how old it is? them: no. i mean come on how do you buy anything and not know the basic details about it. you just don't know what your warrenty is. these people have something that makes a fire in their house and don't know anything about it.

again everyone: read your manual and the quick tips book. read all of the information in the other paperwork that came with it. then if you still don't understand something ask someone at your dealership because they should have made this stuff clear when you bought your car. then if you still want clarification then ask folks here. i'm just asking for you to do some of the work yourself.

We should have sticky somewhere that says 1) go to google.com, 2) type in what you want to find out ("mazda drivetrain warranty" might be a good search here). The second link it came up with was:

http://www.edmunds.com/advice/warran...e.warranty.5.*

Matt, there's no reason to get offended. If you hang out in these forums long enough, you'll eventually get annoyed by these questions too.

"Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime."

Also, for any general car info I go to edmunds.com. They have just about everything you might need to know about any car commonly available, plus invoice and msrp pricing, local pricing, as well as all the warranty info.

For the record, I agree with zoom44. All the information about warranty is conveniently outlined in the papers that came with your car. The answer was within your grasp. All you had to do was go get your manual and warranty info. It's all there. It's been there for any car I've ever bought. There's a whole book, just on warranty. Truth told, it's a very wise thing to do to read the owners manual and the warranty book as soon as you get your new car home so you know what you and your car can and cannot do....and to operate it wisely and safely.

Plus, it's a pretty good read.

I won't let the dealer wash my car. I don't want their gorrilas messing with my Zaino'd finish.
