Vin Number sequence gap?

I looked up some inventory on mazdausa, and some of the 8's I pulled up had VIN numbers with the last 6 digits over 100,000. I was assuming these were sequential starting with 000001, but I find it hard to believe they're already over 100,000. Anyone know of a gap in the numbering sequence?

I haven't heard about anyone's VIN being under 100,000. I believe they must have started them at 100,000 at least.

Roger that. I just took a look at the mileage vs. VIN thread and you're right it looks like they started at 100,000. Never mind
