There is just about nothing lower and more gutless than vandalizing somebody's personal property. Even if you were an a-hole to somebody, that's no excuse. Lord knows I've known my share of ********, but never would it enter my mind to f-up their car.

...pathetic losers without a hint of honor.

Wow, talk about butt hurt! Again, all branches do not have their name stencilled in that controversial place! I know the stencil is there because I have seen it! I'm just telling you the facts and you start crying like a little girl and throwing insults! Calm down and admit you are wrong! I've been to the homes of the Chief of Naval Operations, Commandant of the MC, Chief of Staff Army, Chief of Staff AF, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff because of the job I worked in so what experience do I and don't I have. Everybody is not out to sea so everybody doesn't have a need for that as part of their uniform. When I messed with some of my prior service Navy coworkers and/or the Navy classmates we joked about it this was just a joke and nobody started getting all offended as you are because between the services it is simply a joke...it does not make the Navy any lesser of a service than the Air Force, Army, or Marine Corp. If you are so much of the authority I would like you to find me a picture of the stencil over the back right pocket on an Air Force uniform!

First of all, I'm not butt-hurt. I just don't respond well to people talking out of their asses. Second of all, you dropped your tenure--not me. Lastly, I know for a fact that Airmen have stencils on their BDUs! It's in Blue stitching. Hold on, there's a member on this site that is Active Duty, Airforce. I'm going to PM him and settle this.

Furthermore, I'm I know that you are not directly insulting the Navy. I, too, make fun of Dungarees as you can plainly see above. It's just your "matter-of-fact" conjecture that set me off...

This is the thing PM...the tenure thing was in response to you basically implying that I had no affiliation or experience with the Armed Forces. As far as the stencil thing...my responses are in reference specifically to the one over the back pocket (just in case there is confusion). Yes, the AF does have stencilling on the BDUs for the tapes but we do not have it over our back pocket (otherwise my commanders, coworkers, Airmen, and myself have been in violation of the AFIs) for the time I stated that I have and still am serving.

For the most part this is an internet forum and people can assume all day who is full of it and who is real but only that person knows the truth about who they really are! I assure you that unless it's obviously a joke I'm not into blowing smoke! I noticed you are in the Bay Area...I'm not assigned that far away from you depending on what part of the Bay Area you are in! I'm actually willing to buy you a beer once I get back from my deployment next month! It's one team one fight right?

I'm thinking we got a bit hazy in the e-rage or whatever. It's cool man...I don't hold any ill will towards you, personally. It's just my nature to get fired up. Nothing on this forum is personal, per se. Feel me? And about the stencil, now that I've had lunch, it's not really a big deal. I'll admit, I didn't know Airmen didn't stencil their trousers...that's complete news to me. I used to go to Travis AFB all the time when I was stationed in NAS Alameda and never noticed when I was checking out Female Air...er'...Airpersons? The commissary has better stuff there! Slim pickings on the Dungarees, though...

Don't think for once, that I won't take you up on your offer for a free beer!

But yeah, trashing a car is cowardly ****. It's like kicking someone's kid cause you are mad at the parent? WTF. I bet it is done, precisely because the perpetrators are cowards and do not want to face the person they are targeting face-to-face. Wet turds, the lot of 'em.

Beale? ****, my buddy's a TSgt there...I doubt you all know each other (I get, "oh you were in the Navy...do you know, "Place Name Here?" All the time.) but his name is Bransford...Mike Bransford...hell, I haven't seen him since...well, since Desert Storm. Last I heard, we was going to do his last enlistment at Beale and retire by Sac somewhere...

I can't leave you guys alone for a second.... LOL

Don't mind me just reposting for the guy whose car is f-ed up in case he doesnt read the whole thread.

The Military Personnel and Civilian Employees’ Claims Act

Quote from Stars and Stripes:

“It is reasonable to store a radio in your wall locker; however, storing a $5,000 stereo system in the wall locker is probably not,” wrote Marine Corps 1st Lt. Adam Workman, a legal services officer then in Iwakuni. “Whether the use or possession was reasonable, useful or proper is a judgment call that will be made by the adjudicating official.”

If all conditions for reimbursement are met, the money given for the damaged or lost property is based on repair estimates, or replacement estimates minus depreciation if repair is impossible. If repairs already have been made, receipts are required.

Filing a government claim

When filing a government claim you will need the following:

* DD Form 1842: Claims for loss of or damage to personal property incident to service.
* DD Form 1844: List of property and claims analysis chart.
* Electronic funds transfer form.
* Photos.
* Two estimates of repair for repairable items.
* Verification of replacement price — original receipts from the BX, catalog or Internet prices, etc.
* Title, military registration and insurance paperwork for all vehicle claims.

You can get away with not having a name or number on your gear if you are doing your own laundry or if you are sending it to a commercial cleaners, but I can sure see the need for tags and numbers when you are using the ships laundry or base set up (we have done the garbage can thing) where you have a couple of thousand exactly alike uniforms that have to be sorted some how...

I remember this guy wondering around an airport looking for his duffle bag when it was wall to wall airmen with bags everywhere and when some one asked if he could identify it he replied "Well, its green!"

Good to hear that there is some sort of base insurance program. I know the Army was decent to my neighbor when a helicopter got too low and scared his horse to death - He was so touched that they would try to act like gentlemen when they made mistakes that he joined up and made a fine sniper!

With all due respect Winfree, I was joking about the laundry bit. There are much more tactical reasons why it is important to have an Airman/Marine/Soldier/Sailor/Puddle-Pirate's name on the front and rear of their uniforms (including inside each one of his/her boots).

Man, that disgusts me. Not just how bad it is, but why a person would do such a thing. Sorry to see that.

Do you know what squadron he was with? The name actually looks familiar but it could be from seeing it on the global!

It looks almost like they signed their name and then crossed it out....

And Phantom, I never saw something on the back of an Air Guard Uniform, but we did keep their footprints on record!

Ouch!

I'm getting paranoid since I work on base. I'll have to start driving the Honda to work. Make the 8 a weekend driver. Sad sight to see.

Everybody that drives on base has to have insurance - so it would still be worth finding the rat - not to kill him but to make sure the repair is properly paid for...

When I was stationed at Naval Station Norfolk.. I had my antenna ripped off (not on my 8 on my previous Ford Probe ). So no serious damage there. But one of my shipmates had his car stolen while parked on base. Some guy drove it to New York to visit family.. Then he drove it back to the Naval Station and parked it in a different area. Well he forgot to take his gas receipts (you know when you pay with a debit card). So he got busted.. freaking idiot..

But also, when serving in the Navy I probably had more of my stuff stold from me then any other time in my life. I had someone steal my wallet, my clothes, my boots, my cd's, and my cd player. Oh wait and somebody stold my duffle bag also. A majority of the Navy consists of thugs. The recruiters aren't doing a very good job recruiting. They are taking what they get in desperation.

I actually really liked being in but I couldn't stand half the people on the ship.. hence why I got out. Had the quality of people been better I would have stayed.

You wouldn't believe the amount of sailors doing drugs also. I believe Cocaine was the preferred drug of choice. I knew a guy that was a CT.. CT's have some of the highest security clearances in the Navy.. and this guy smoked more dope then cheech and chong. It was riduculous.

I was only drug tested 3 times during my 4 years.. And it was 3 times during my last 6 months of my enlistment. After bootcamp I didn't get drug tested for 3 1/2 years.

I also once read an article about a high ranking officer on an aircraft carrier was literally pimping out some of his junior female sailors, to other officers and collecting a profit.

So yeah I'm not sure about the other branches of the military but the Navy recruiters have lost it.. Damn.. that brings up another story. We had this guy on the ship named Seaman Ford. This guy was literally so dumb, he could not get his drivers license. He could not load a soda machine.. He didn't know how to use an ATM machine.. So they put him down in Laundry.. It took him almost a year to learn how to do laundry and I still don't think he was doing it right. Now that's quality recruiting at its best. Go Navy Recruiters your doing a fine job!

Join an elite unit, it helps minimize that kind of stuff. I leave all my gear unlocked and unattended, no one has touched a nickel. A diver wouldn't do it, and if we EVER caught any regular guys in our AO... well lets just say that would be bad.

When I was stationed in Norfolk we had to do shore patrol in the pier parking lot and I would bust all kinds of people doing **** to cars. I had a 94' Z28 back then and after my first break-in I would park it elsewhere and catch a cab to pick it up.

Most of the time the guys breaking in were military. It was easy because when it was cold most of the lazy asses on watch would stay in the guard house and sleep. I was diligent because my car had been broken in to before so I was always looking to baton the **** out of someone.

The higher the rank, the closer you were to the guard houses and the captain actually parked on the pier in his Alpha Romeo Spyder.
