Value hit when 09's come out

What type of hit in value do you think the 04-07 8s will take in value when the new body style comes out? I am not quite ready to get rid of it but the thought crossed my mind when I heard the new one was coming.......

Hahaah... with hardly anything signifcantly changed, I doubt folks would even notice! It's like what happens to 03-07 Saab 9-3 when the 2008 came out. whuh??? It's like "They still make those?"

Yeah, I don't think it'll make a big difference.

No significant change to the car. So I don't think it'll effect resale much more than the yearly depreciation.

HOWEVER, if in time we find out the under hood changes adds reliability to the renesis, the value of the pre-2009 RX-8's will take a hit.

With the drop in value over the past year, I don't think it could get much worse heh. Lately I've noticed some 04s going for 11-13 on the ebay.

mysql has a good point there though; reliability scares spread through word of mouth are a key deferrer from the current RX-8, so anything spectacular in regards to reliability would probably make a difference.

Turn that frown upside down!

Lower cost RX-8's means cheaper replacement parts

I think the value should increase after looking at the 09's.

Up! The 09s look more and more gaudy by the day. The old style still looks like something out of Italy, and a step aside to the characteristics of the new Mazda exteriors.

I dont know of any under hood changes aside from the oil dip stick moved up and filter, 4 point strut bar, moved the oil pan.

Tell you what one of these "new RX-8's" will be in town Sunday and my friend Mike, well his boy is a Master tech for Mazda works on Rotarys all day ect, and has been driving one around town. I'll see if I can take some great pics for you guys and post them.

value will stay about the same since..

they look better! and many agree with this fact.

04-08 shells will be timeless pieces 20+ years from now

IMO

i actually think the prices for the 'zenki' (yes i'm borrowing terms from the FC generation RX-7 lol) RX-8s will remain steady in accordance with its age/mileage and won't take a major hit when the '09 hits the showroom.

I think you're just going to get the split in what people like, some will like the older styling some the newer. There are only a few things I like about the new styling really.
