In the OP I guessed that it might have just been dealer shorthand, and now I know that's the case. Thanks.

Nothing needs to be corrected: it wasn't on the invoice for the car itself, it was the description on the invoice for getting the iPod integration module installed. None of my purchase or insurance documents say "Shinka" anywhere. I never for one moment thought that I had one, I just wondered if use of the term had maybe broadened to include any limited edition.

Tell the dealer not to insult you like that, he he. A 40th Anniv. Ed is top ranks in my book. Calling a Shinka anywhere would be an insult.

i own an 06 ti gray shinka. ive actually owned 2, and test drove the 40th aniv.

the interior is diffrent on both, the reason i got another shinka was because of the leather and the suede combo on the inside. u just cant beat it = ).

orange was far to epic for me.

I considered buying all the Shinka parts and calling mine one..

that foam-filled thing was too expensive though, and I would feel ricey doing so if I didn't get all the parts

I think you misunderstood me Copper Red only came out one year that was in 06 and only on the Shinka.

Ti Grey and other colors that are offered on the 06 Shinka's were already colors on the regular RX-8 and for more than one year. Copper Red Mica is exclusive to the 06 Shinka. Get it?

Except for the Black Cherry 05 Shinka. It is also an exclusive color to the Shinka.

I've got a 05 6MT GT, Black with brown interior. Just ran my VIN through this NADA "free VIN check", and it came back saying my model was a "Base/Shinka". What's up with that?

Does the 40th have silver or black strips along the sides of the center console? The Shinkas have the black. Also the 06 8s were not available in titainium gray only Galaxy Gray and Sunlight Silver. My $ .02 worth

2005 Shinka is the real Shinka!!! j/k ...but I do love the 2005 one the most. The Black Cherry Mica gets so many compliments and looks just amazing under sunlight or bright street lamps. A blend of purple, black and red thats really grown on me.

Hmmm, I just read all these posts but everyone failed to mention that in the '07 line up Mazda offered White/sand Alcanterra leather seats and Shinka options in all the '07 exterior colors except Sunlight Silver.

The 40th has Silver panels along the center console

(I have one!)

Oh, the 40th MT also has the shift pattern on the shift **** thats black writing on white/cream background, as opposed to the normal white writing on black background
