Type of strakes
I'm pretty set on getting strakes. Now my question is should I get the factory ones that are polished aluminum, polished aluminum with chrome plated finish, or stainless steel? Any advice is appreciated. By the way, my RX-8 is Red. Here are links in that order:

Get what you want and will be happy with! Also, take a look at www.RX8strakes.com for some other possible looks.
Highly recommended.

I have the SS painted strakes but might get the chrome ones from rotary13b1
Edit: Blast! Beaten to it!

One of my concerns is the guy who sells stainless steel strakes says the chrome finish ones get weathered down easier. And would chrome strakes look good without anything else chrome on the car?

Looks like the rx8strakes.com chrome strakes are sold out. I think stainless steel is a midway point between too shiny (chrome) and not shiny enough (polished aluminum), but I was just looking for others' opinions too.

I have the stainless steel strakes from rx8-accessories.com and couldn't be more delighted—they're simply beautiful. Kind of a smooth, almost-chrome finish—shiny, but not quite as shiny as pure chrome—more like your Mom's good silverware, when it's nicely polished. When you pick them up in your hand you feel like you're holding an expensive, quality piece—like something you'd find on a classic Bentley or Mercedes.
And don't worry about whether they'll "match" the other shiny metal on your car—whether it's the "chrome" highlights on the wheelcap or the chrome exhaust tips, the difference is so slight that, to your eye, they all match perfectly (whether they actually do or not).

no problem. if i could knew of someone good to powder coat i would seriously have to consider getting a set of front and rear accents and possibly even some strakes to match my bronze rims. it would have to be a good color match and i guess it would be a bit of overkill.

I also just placed an order with

They are supposed to be on the way, so I will let you know how they are when I get them.

I am thinking about ordering the stainless steel strakes and rotary accent from rx8-accesories.com, but I didn't see a rear rotary accent on his site, only front...does any body know if he sells a rear one as well?

Agreed. I think the stainless steel is going to be the most durable choice as well.

The stainless strakes from UK are the way to go! Love mine, and I've never heard/seen a complaint from any members who have them. There have been some complaints about paint chipping on the color matched strakes, so search the members w/those out b4 buying.
The rear accent from 13b is great. I would reccomend adding an extra piece of double sided sticky to the bottom corner of it b4 putting it on, as the bottom corner still has some wiggle to it. W/the package price they have for F&R accents it seems like a no brainer.

Reaper is right. I got the stainless front from UK, and aluminum rear from rotary13b. Unless you're in a winter area (forgot to check you location) don't bother w/the stainless front. It's bulkier, heavier and requires 2 screws that I still hate to this day. (tho I'm prlly the only one who ever notices them) It's also pricey - and prlly much worse w/the ever increasing exchange rate.
