Pretty sure they won't do that.. They're discontinuing the Rx8's in 2011, they're launching a new rx7, or as some others call it the rx9, with the 16x.. And a turbo, it's well over 300hp.

the rx-8 was not discontinued for 2011 but it will not be sold in Europe for 2011. It will be sold in the US for 2011 MY but after is a toss up. It will continue for Japan and Australia.

turbo? Yes but it wont be sold outside of Japan. I say this because it will look cooler that I was right in stead of saying no and being right.

Personally I'm gonna hold our the dual FI version. Supercharged and Turbocharged FTW. It's an old concept but they are bringing it back I hear.

You guys do realize they are developing the hybrid Rotary/Piston engine design, right? Half the engine will have the piston for the torque and MPG, while the other have will be the Rotary for high revving and smooth sounds.

V6 with a rotor on each end and direct injection. Then twin turbos and dual hi-flo cats. Or a V8 with 2 rotors on each side and quad hi flow cats. 4 turbos.

If I were to place a bet on the future....

I predict that they will create a sports car with a piston engine and name is something else...although it will in sense replace the RX.

Probably MX8.

Hey, I like this combo piston/rotary engine idea...the pistons can be connected to the side of the rotor at one of the apex's and the rotor spinning will be like a crankshaft.

Awesome! No?

I haven't decided yet, I'm trying to figure out where to put the crankshaft and blower first.
