Tranny probs

Im hearing this noise from my tranny. Heres the background
I only hear it when im accelarating./ when im on the throttle and in gear.
It sounds like its coming from the tranny.
IT sounds like a old hard drive making click clicking noises likse something is grinding.
It happens in a rhythmic patter tripplets almost. it sounds like something is grinding in teh gears.
I havnt been driving the car to hard.

Shoud i just check my tranny fluid and see if some metal shavings are in there
Should i go to a dealer ship and let them tell me nothing is wrong.
Should i wate till teh transsmision explodes and teh gear blow up and drop from teh car.
Thanks guys.

With 1400 miles on your car you need to take it to the Dealer.

Take the tech in your car so they can hear the noise.

If they say it's nothing have them take you in another car.

I once had this type of sound underneath my gearbox on one of my old cars. Turned out it was a dented mid-pipe and when it expanded, it would rattle against the bottom of the gearbox. Scraped on any speed bumps, or hit any rocks lately?

ALWAYS call..

and tell them ahead of time what you want and what you drive.

like this..." Hello my name is (insert name here) and I drive a Rx8, I think I hear some strange noises from my tranny and I'd like to have someone ride with me. Just to settle my nerves..

Hey that would work for me!

I have seen gravel in the main converter shield..If you have a relationsip with the guys at the dealer you can ask them to put the car on the lift and hit the covers to check for the rattle.

If you don't have a relationship with your dealer....donut's always help

I had gravel trapped in my heat shield above the cat in my old Miata for about a year- it sounded like crap but I never knew why until I replaced the cat and exhaust. I just removed the shield and forgot about it... but I wouldn't do that with the temps our rotaries generate.

You had a Mx-5?

My brother owns the 94 on this site.

Uh, no, much like driving it into a brick wall and then reporting a dented front end would not be covered like warranty.

And, dude - it's called "punctuation". Look into it. If you want to be taken seriously by us and your dealer, good communications helps. At least let technology help you out:

If you use Mozilla for your browser: http://www.mozilla.org

...and you install the spellcheck extension: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.7.3/windows-xpi/spellcheck.xpi
(Linux and Mac OS X versions also available)

...you'll be able to check spelling in web forms before you post.

The easier your posts are to read, the more people will be inclined to post helpful responses. It's your funeral - do what you like, man.

Damn...that's nice. Yep- I had a '96 M-Edition, fully modded out for track/autocross. Best damn sportscar you can buy for under $10k in my book:
