Tpms
Hey guys. How often does your TPMS light come on? when I first bought the car (used), it came on quite frequently and I had to put air in. Now, however, its been months and I haven't seen it.

you were prolly on the border of when the sensor alerts you.
like for instance. if it alerts at 35. and your tires are 34 cold, it will be on till you drive for a few minutes.
i took mine out cause i bought rims that i couldnt use them in. fixed the problem with some well placed electrical tape :P

you should never see it on if your tires are properly inflated.

I dunno about that. I never saw the tpms light, and when i actually measured the pressure after driving it home from the dealer, they were all at least 4 psi low. I am kinda disappointed because that basically means the system is useless for anything other than a flat, or something which is on its way to becoming a flat. The system should not allow for pressures to be that low without warning you. thankfully my obsessive astuteness checks pressures every week manually anyway.

correct: almost all TPMS systems have a large range before they alert the driver of a tire that is low on air or over inflated. Have you read up on the new Federal mandates for TPMS?
They're almost a joke but then again... the stupid people out there can probably drive a car with 20 psi and not think anything is wrong unless they have a bright yellow light staring them in the face.
