One of my friends topped out 5th gear on my car, I think it was like 142?ish. 189 is the theoretical top speed.

Ive done 175 in 5th ( T56 Tranny) and in my case, my car is ***** Govenrned. There is so much more to go. Its just not my thing..

i myself have hit 144 without topping out, it wasnt a long enough straight. im sure i coulda pushed a lil more outta it 150 seems acheivable. and i wish life was theory 189 would be a nice top speed

Damn.. Where do you guys test this? Most I've gotten my 8 up to is 117.. lol..

I shall try more soon.. Just keep reading the newspapers.. Might see a VR 8 turned over somewhere.

Not sure about the NA cars but the 6MT's over here in Asia do not have any speed limiters/governers.

I've hit 252 km/h in 6th which equates to roughly 156mph.

Not going to do it again anytime soon though

best places to do it is a track if you can find one or an abandoned airfield. btw i have a 6mt so no governor for me. but the density of the air and the way your engine combusts it to make an explosion will be different pretty much wherever you drive whether its at sea level above or below. wherever you drive be safe, i know from experience ive done some dumb things and im only 20...

Fuel cutoff is a dead solid 9,000 rpms (unless you have flash with a different setting)... 9,000 rpms just looks like 9300 rpms on the tach because the tach lies

I thought fuel cut-off is 9,500 rpm's, mine goes to 9,500 or close to it daily!

so with the automatics i keep hearing some are governed and some arent.. does anyone know for a fact which ones are, or if they all are? I have an 04 auto. Ill most likely be going out to the salt flats this year (about an hour away from me) to test but id like to know in advance what to expect
