all i can say is that RX8 is nothing like any other sports car. the problem about most sports car is that they do not have enough space in the trunk and has only one passenger seat. Therefore, all you are paying for are the looks. but the RX8 is different. RX8 is a 1.3Litre wankel rotary engine (which is not coarse and vulgar as petrol engine), and it has 238bhp.

take this from me because i have seen this from a car review show in England:
WITH THE RX8, YOU’LL HAVE ALL THE BENEFITS OF A COUPE WITH NONE OF THE DRAWBACKS AND YOU'LL HAVE THE PRACTICALITY OF A SALOON, WITH NONE OF THE TEDIUM. IT IS NEITHER THE TORQUEIST NOR THE MOST ECONOMICAL, BUT BLOODY HELL.... ITS HANDLING IS BRILLIANT. IT IS THE EASIEST CAR TO DRIVE FAST. IT IS SO FORGIVING AND IT NEVER FIGHTS BACK LIKE A PUNCH BAG. IT HAS THE PERFECT LAYOUT: FRONT ENGINE, REAR WHEEL DRIVE WITH SLIP DIFFERENTIAL AND PERFECT INTERIOR.

It is the best car ever. ZOOM ZOOM.....

jk...there are numerous advantages of owning an '8.

 

I still can't believe he made a comment like that about the ENTIRE car, just because of the tires (which can easily be changed)? But, it was a really good episode.

 

I wouldnt take that "its the best car" line too seriously he always says that if he likes a car..

Did you see the M5 critique? The entire first half consists of Mr Clarkson dropping his pants, popping a squat and taking a **** all over the car for dumb *** reasons LOL.. he totally hated it.. THEN he presses the M button and says "Wow, this is the best car ever" (hmmm wonder if I've ever heard that one before)

As it was said before... hes great for the entertainment... the comedy.. the "dramatization", the mood swings and rational behavior of a coke addict...

but if you want a good review of a car.. look elsewhere for the most part

I watched that episode when I was deciding whether or not to buy the 8. It probably factored into my decision somewhat.

yah that! it feel like running in double cream. i did forget about that. that show made me buy my RX8. i took their word for it and bought it without test drive or anything. the moment my bank handed me the keys was the moment i saw my titanium gray 6speed manual. i am happy with my RX8 even though the shifting is a bit clunky.

 

i believe that Top Gear is getting kicked off the air in America because jeremy clarkson did this...

Well.. He is pretty spot on with most of those arguments. I'm glad he had the guts to say it. Pity it won't change anything.

 

yah i agree with a lot of the stuff he says in the article, but i can understand why they pulled top gear off the air. i love the show though, and it has influenced me on getting the 8.

BUT, i haven't confirmed that it really is getting yanked off the air. it's just some information i picked up off of another forum and i thought it would be nice to share it.

 

Top Gear isn't on because the US version runs a season behind the UK version, and they're out of episodes.

That having been said, I didn't know the host was such an a**. I hope they pull his visa and he can just stay at home in the wonderful UK and not worry about the US.

LOL Clarkson does speak his mind ....even his newpaper coloums collated in to a book made bess seller!.....TG like the RX8 and as the Producer (i think) drives a stupidly fast RX7 i think the wankel owners get a good deal, But if you guys ever fancy tracking him down he has a Fighter Bomber in his frount garden so should be easy found!

if you get the chance there a show called fifthe gear we get to with the Le Man driver who used to be in TG Tiff Needle and F1 Driver Jason Plato and the loverly Vicky..oh and a very funny fat dude! Anyway last night they raced a Williams F1 car against a M5....... very very veyr good show!!!!

I have a friend in England...we disagree on the shows. I think 5th Gear is top notch and Top Gear I find kind of annoying. He prefers Top Gear, he thinks the hosts are hilarious.
