Tire issue?

My RX-8 seems to "find the grooves" in the road and the steering pulls so much that in some cases it is difficult to control. Car and tires only have 7,000 miles. I have never hit a pot hole or curb...so I doubt it is an alignment issue. Anyone have any other thoughts on what to check?

low profiles tend to "copy" the road. Any grooves or imperfections on the road and you might notice them..

I sencond Wanted Two.

Tramlining is a common problem with low-profile tires.

I think that I've read that your alignment can help to mitigate or exacerbate this.

Depends on the tire. Some tend to follow the grooves more than others. My new goodyear F1's don't seem to be affected much by grooves and imperfections, but my toyo t1's did more especially when the tread was worn.

Send a message to the city or county that services that road and let them know how the road is affecting your driving experience.

Sounds normal. Thought it was soooo noticable when I first got the 8. Now w/14k on it, I rarely notice it. LoPro, yo, LoPro.

It kinda blew my mind at first. My eclipse (hope that's not a banned word here) had low profiles but they did not react to the road like these. I'm used to it now (except when my tires are really cold and the ride is rough too) but it's fun to see how others react to it when they first drive my car!!

PS I'm not a bad owner, I don't let just ANYONE drive the Rex!

Same feeling here. It's not that noticeable on most roads, though. It's just one in particular that always gives me problems. It's rutted and bumpy. It's the one that also makes it sound like the passenger side of car is going to rattle apart, when it doesn't hardly rattle at all, except very rarely, anywhere else. I also thought my alignment might be off, but its just fine, so basically the road just sucks.
