Yea no ****, i searched the other day about the law in Cali and read that 70% was the legal limit. I mean, getting that light of tint would hardly be worth it anyways but still....Cali just sux *** when it comes to emissions/vehicle laws. I heard (read it somewhere) Cali was on its way to even stricter emissions laws as well.
Rear windows can be 0% for all they care though, and you can have a 4 inch strip of 5% along the top of your windshield.

I live in Philadelphia and drive to the Poconos which is about 2.5 hours drive. I've been pulled over so many times its not funny and only once in my old car did I get a ticket for my tint. And he said that's why he pulled me over, even though I was doing 80 right past him. Its not even a moving violation so it's just a fine. Get it as dark as you want, just make sure you roll all your windows down and turn your dome lights on before the cop even gets out of the car. They look at it as you're not a complete dick. Thats all most of them care about. Knowing they're not walking up to a gun pointed at them.

^ Pics or it didn't happen. Nah, just kidding. We don't need to see that.
But I'd like to see more photos of people's tint and what % it is. I still need to do mine, because as of right now I'm a sunlight silver owner looking a little without tint.

I've had my last ~10 cars or so tinted 35% all around, and 50% front windshield. 50% front is almost invisible, but I do it for the sun protection. Gives you great visibility at night, great sun protection all around, and no issues with LE even in IL/CA. Personally, I don't care for un-even tint degrees front-rear, and limo tint is just not safe at night (tried it once on M Coupe to match black roof, hated it), legal or otherwise. Ceramic tint is lighter than regular metallic.
Here's the RX8 with the above treatment:

Here's 35% ceramic on side, seeing through 50% front:

Anyone care to hazard a guess on what I have? The PO did them and said they were illegal in CA, not sure if that's true or not; never been pulled over for them.

That's out in sunlight (look at my taillight and rear bumper), so they look lighter than they should. I think they look sick, especially my BLACK rear window, but they're also too dark at night, and my car still gets hot if I leave it outside... worst of both worlds.
