personally, my case goes both ways.

there are many who say to fight it... its lame, and i got a good case.

there's also a few who say don't get caught doin 56 in a 55 zone.

i will obviously do both.

i appreciate all the support and all the criticism, constructive or not. i will move on, and take everyones thoughts with me.

i do hope others can use my thread to post up similar story to share, so the community can benefit and evaluate different situations as well. i don't see my story being the highlight of this thread contributing any further...

lets face it, we're all guilty at one time or another. if i can share my story to better someone's next experience, i think i did alright.

I disagree with that. At 1 mph over the speed limit you could very easily make an argument that your speedometer said 65. Contesting a ticket like that is why you will hardly ever get pulled over for much more than 10mph over the speed limit. If you contested a 66mpg in a 65 you'd win more than 99% of the time.

Always contest any ticket you get no matter what. Sometimes you'd be surprised.

Sadly, the economic woes municipalities are facing makes all of us a target. Nothing new there. When our fearless (lack of) leaders get in a financial bind there's only one recourse - take it from the taxpayers.

I agree with Flashwing. But I can also see the "you should have know better" side of the argument.

Request the dash cam footage from PCH. See if the Prius looks like it cut you off as clearly as you remember and decide if you want to fight it from there. It's a pretty slim chance, though.

Nowadays, at least in Mass, it costs money just to appeal your ticket, even if you win. I had to pay $25 to contest a $50 fine. So they could pull you over for absolutely nothing, even if they know full well you will win the appeal and still make $25 profit for the state. It's criminal.

I got a Obstruction with the intersection Ticket when the traffic was MOVING. Just last week. My father was in my car too, he was like "wtf ?"

Yep, Im pissed. and I already requested a hearing, even though 99% of the time they still gonna tell me to pay it up. But I just feel like to waste their time and money. ******* government.
