Thinking about getting a RX-8...
The one thing holding me back is that I don't really fit. My head is on the celing.
Is there a way to lower the seat?
I'm 6' with a long torso.
Also when did this split off of rx7club.com?
Thanks,
-S5

I'm 6'1" and I fit perfectly fine. The seat lowers and just scoot it all the way back. If youre still having issues I find you gain a lot of head room by leaning it back a tad. I'm not riding ghetto but just comfortably. Also the sport (non sunroof) will have better head room. Go out and test drive some and se if you fit comfortably. The only thing to think of is if you plan on autocrossing or road racing you need a little extra room for the helmet. Also I heard the r3's aren't very big Guy friendly. Idk if it means tall or large I have never rode in one. But the best thing to do is test drive. Also I did not even know we used to be a part of rx7club. I wasn't around back then so I can't tell you

I sat in a non sunroof model at an auto show earlier this year. With the seat as far down as it would go and my head was making full contact with the ceiling. Also if I tilt the seat back any further then then I had it it just felt awkward. The seat did seam to have quite a bit of room under it. So I was wondering if there were any lowering brackets.
Aside from being 6' 210lb my pant size is 36-38 by 30 and I have to get xl shirts because larg shirts are to short for my torso.
Oh about the forums... They may have just been cross linked. I remember there being an rx8 section and it would take you to the rx7.com URL Though im not sure if I ever tried to post any thing in it.

Just so you know, your height isn't the determining factor; it's leg length (inseam). If you're tall from the waist up you may not fit. But if you're height is mostly in your legs; no problem.

There are a number of threads on this topic. One more does no harm, but it may be worth searching for some of the others.
It's a combination of your height, proportions and how you like to sit. I'm six feet even, and fit just about right with the seat all the way back and all the way down. If my legs were an inch longer I would not be comfortable. If my torso was an inch taller the top of my head would scrape. The seat back is at an angle I like, but if I lean it back further my head starts to scrape.
It's kind of like buying clothing or shoes. You check the size, but you've got to try the stuff on yourself. Then believe what yourself tells you.

I HATE SPEEDBUMPS!
If i were you, if i don't feel comfortable seating on the car i'm buying, i won't buy it. If you really want the rx8 even though your tall, it's up to you to decide anyway. If you don't want any problems, then don't get a vehicle that will give you problems within your personal preference.
