Re: backseat room

More legroom than the Mazda 626.

If you want near supercar performance, go buy a TVR Cerbera 4.5. LOL... What do they cost in the US by the way?

They don't sell them here. I have seen a couple locally, but I suspect they were imported.

Getting back to the original topic, it seems that Mazda is offering a Club Sport version of the Miata according to this post on miata.net: http://www.miataforum.com/ubb/ultima...;f=11;t=007345

The info is based on an article in Car and Driver (cut-and-pasted the text here):

Even more zoom: While Mazda's been busy pretending that its minivan is a racy number, the company has thankfully not forgotten its zoomiest car, the Miata. Mazda will offer a Club Sport racing version of the roadster for 2003 that will include Bilstein shocks, a front strut-tower brace, a limited-slip differential, and a stiffened suspension. It will not include A/C, an audio system, power steering, or a wind blocker. Figure a weight saving of about 100 pounds. When the Club Sport arrives in dealershipslater this fall, it should cost about the same as the base-level Miata, which is $21,800.
It sounds like Mazda is really listening to the enthusiasts!

I'm not too crazy about seeing something that is as bare-bones as the Club Sport. I think the go-fast goodies are fine, but I'm not sure if I could live without AC or a stereo!

Shame... TVR make nice cars...

http://www.tvr-eng.co.uk/graphics/tu...ics/r_side.jpg

That Tuscan R delivers a genuine 440Bhp/1000Kg and can make smash the 200Mph barrier.

The RX-8 isn't a supercar... but it's damn nice all the same.
