Fogging and water

The tailight lense readily filled with water if the car went into a car wash. Also fogged in rain / wet conditions.

I tried replacing the original thin gasket with an ebay gasket solution, but this made no difference. I poured water down the boot channel, I could see a quantity of water accumulate in the lense. So I took the lense off, and then discovered the water dripping out of it from the join between the two plastics.

Having sealed that, and still using the thick ebay gasket, as said so far so good.

If the gasket is failing, do try my solution of padding OVER the gasket, not just a gasket itself. My guess is you installed the gasket wrong? Maybe you didn't heat it together? If this isn't the case, then you might have a crack somewhere.
