Guy asked me at a gas station if mine was a 3 rotor, i assumed it was cause of my exhaust but before i could say anything he called his friend over saying 'hey come check this thing out, it's one of those wankel cars' i explained to him briefly when mazda had used the 3 rotor and that mine was only a 2.5 (i counted my tattoo for fun :P). Then the usual questions followed. He knew what he was saying mostly so it was cool.

I was parked at the grocery store and some guy got out of a brand new Z06 vette....he immediately pulled out his phone and took a few pics around my 8. Told me it was a damn good looking ride. Wanted to go for a spin with me, but I didn't have time. I have no clue what he thought it was? On a different occasion someone pulled up beside me in an Acura TL. He was previously behind me and changed lanes. At the light he told me I was shifting late and didn't know how to drive and my engine was going to die. (I was shifting around 5-6k through the other lights before) I told him I was shifting early and i had much more room til redline. The look on his face was priceless. Then I told him "I think my engine will be fine" took it up to 9k when it turned green and left him in awe

Guy: Ah, so V6. Thats still good though for a car that size
Me: This car doesnt have pistons...
Guy: (note his rather troubled, confused looked on his face from this point on)
Guy: ...What do you mean?
Me: The engine isnt a V-anything, nor does it have pistons.
Guy: ...So how does it run?
(this is the part where opportunity and sarcasm got the best of me at the very same time)
Me: Its majic...

I then proceed to get in my car and drive away, leaving the guy standing there confused beyond reason in my rear view mirror. I must say, the look on his face was priceless.
I love it. It's magic.
I will use that next time.

Yesterday someone asked me about my Ferrari.....

Really? Ferrari? These cars have been out long enough for people to know what it is. I paused as I decided if I should educate them or just walk away. I educated them.

Hehe, have a lot of the same. People think it's a Porsche.

What's the speed on the clock? Digital speedo again, which I say '0' sometomes as I'm not moving.
How fast can it go? To whick I reply as fast as you can control it.
It must be light on fuel? After the find out it's a 1.3L.
Why did you buy 2 door? People often drop the front seat forward if I don't tellthem it has back doors first.

Some lady ruined my day a while back. I'm filling up at the gas station and she asks me, "Is that a Probe? Really? A Probe??!! I've heard Corvette, Aston Martin, Mustang, etc, but never a Probe.

My usual reactions to the car;
Little kids go bonkers.
Drive-thru workers on multiple occasions have called it their dream car.
One guy asked of it was a Tiburon.
That's ok. I like those.

IMHO getting attention from little kids is THE BEST. I could not care less if the hipster next to me isnt diggin' my ride.

Whenever i pass by little kids who point and say cool car i always rev it to 7-9k and watch their face as the exhaust makes that signature "POP"

priceless.

When I pulled up to my grand mother she said, "that's a really nice car, that's a Prius right?"

A guy at Pep Boys said, "That's a nice car but they all seem to have oil leaks", I couldn't respond quick enough before he said, "Plus my buddy has one and it's the hardest 4 cylinder to work on". I was speechless because he gave me the impression that he knew what he was talking about in the beginning of the conversation.

I was at a Wawa (similar to 7-11 or Sheets) and I was standing in the back of a 4 person line. My 8 was parked directly outside, the cashier was facing it. For the 2-3 minutes I was in line he mentioned to the customers in front of me how nice that car was (I was impressed he knew about rotary). When I got up to pay for my coffee he says, "did you see that RX8 parked out there? That car is sweet man", when he gave me my change I said "thanks, I try to keep it clean" the look on his face was priceless.

When I had mine, I had the usual questions about the engine. I got one of these key chains pretty early and it made explaining sooooo much easier

Kids 4 and under call me bumble bee, i get a kick out of it. All the other kids scream in the neighborhood "cool car" or "nice car". Never had anyone try to play it off like they knew what they were talking about unless they were dissing the so called downfalls of it. Never gotten porsche or ferrari or any of those. Been asked what it was. Mine is almost 10 years old and still looks like it did when I bought it.
