Is there any special procedure to run the engine which wasn't run for >1 month

Hello

I haven't run my 2006 RX-8's engine for more than one month*

Is there anything special that needs to be done as I run the engine for the first time after >1 month?

Thanks.

*Just in case you might wonder why I haven't driven it for such a long time, it's because I accidentally bought fake IG coils and I removed and returned them back as soon as I became aware of it and I ordered real genuine coils from America. All of these events took more than a month.

Make sure your fluids are topped up, your battery is charged, and fire it up.

yeah, a month is not much of a concern.

many unsold rx8s sat for months and months at dealers back in the days

thank you for all the tips

The other day when the original coils came, I installed the coils and turned the ignition on. It was a perfect startup. I heard some coolant fluid sounds inside the cabin just a bit, that 's all. Afterwards it did the usual ~2200rpm and gradually lowering to 1000 rpm and below.

The best thing about changing the coils is that it no longer makes explosion sound at the exhaust at cold starts and at rpms higher than 7500. The replaced coils were >7 years old.

I would cycle the key on and off 2-3 times just to prime the fuel pump.
