Did he just spank himself in public? That's got to be against the rules!

1) The sunroof rattles like crazy when open.
2) The paint is nice but weak as hell I should take a pic of my MS front bumper up close what a horror looks like my car has the Michael Jackson disease.
3) A little too much body roll but they left the suspension softer to broaden the market, I think personally well that was one of the reasons to keep the ride nice and not too sporty
4) The MS front bumper grill is crap literally I've had to put it back on like 10 times cause the stupid little metal tabs are too weak and bend too easily from rain and high speeds
5) That dip stick location is bad I agree
6) The trim around the middle console the brushed aluminum scuffs very easily actually mine scuffed from the seat rubbing on it when adjusting the position

And that's all I really have to complain about other than that I love my car.

Maybe this thread should be sent to MNAO so future owners have a better chance of not coming across these problems, but I doubt that would really do anything at all.

1) Gas mileage
2) Air conditioner is pretty lousy. Only really cold on the last 3 ticks. Then it goes to lukewarm and warm and hot (even though it's still in the blue section).
3) Flooding. Not a problem but I'd rather have to not worry about it, yeah? I haven't had it flood but then again there's been a few cases where I chose not to move my car since I didn't want to risk the car flooding. (Ie moving it from the street to a drive way when cold).
4) Warm cup holders
5) Oil dipstick hard to put back in a non bright location. I had to buy a flashlight. Even with the lights on in my garage (it's pretty bright), I need the flashlight.
6) Nav is soooo out of date. I'm guessing the maps are like 2002 maps at best. And people say it costs $400 to update. That's absurd.
7) Low torque. Be nice to have more.

1. Can't really leave out fuel mileage--it's the single worst thing.
2. Fear of flooding, causing us to not move the car when it would be convenient to do so.
3. No spare tire (or the spare tire costing you much of the trunk).
4. The Nav system having a user interface so bad it's less unpleasant to get lost than to use the Nav system to get unlost.
5. There is no 5.

1] Wheels have penchant for gathering brake dust.
2] No dual zone climate control.
3] One temp for heated seats.
4] Do the outside mirrors heat?
5] Channels along sides of roof trap dirt and car wax.
6] Front cup holders are ackward. No place to put elbow when cup in holder.
7] Should have an active lighter/power socket when key not in ignition.
8] Windows operate after key removed. Sunroof should operate as well.
9] Can do without the ribbed rubber seating surfaces.
10] Needs continuous oil level indicator

But then again, if that's all I have to complain about, it's a darn good car.

Abbid, if you really want to get Abbid's attention, threaten to lower Abbid's post count to, say, 3. :D It would take Abbid days to bring it back up to a respectable level!

get over it...

To those who speak of the young rx8 owners and how its one of the worst things for you I say this...

ITS NOT AN EXPENSIVE CAR. IT’S NOT AS LUXURIOUS AS YOU THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR... FOR THOSE WHO THINK IT.

Yes, It’s not the cheapest car in the world but, come on. Anyone with a half way decent job can afford this car. I'd hate to admit it, and this is probably the first time I say or think about this but... my job isn't (or wasn't) all that great. I just moved to Orange County in California from Texas.... South Texas that is. And with the exception of Spring Break... South Texas has to be one of the worst paying regions in the US. I could easily pay for my rx8, with insurance, gas... other bills.. yada, yada... oh and I pay my own tuition.

The only difference is that we don’t mind paying 350-550 a month for this car and others do. I know of a lot of people who earn a great income and have a good career who don’t think twice about owning a car like ours. My parents are a great example. My mom drives a 98 Minivan (cause she likes it) and my dad drives a 02 Frontier. Their car payments are either very small or non-existent. Their home however is amazing! Very big, very beautiful and is what they spend their income in.

I know it sucks for those of us whose parents didn’t buy us RX8s for your 16th birthday... but I'll admit that if my parent's did, and could afford it... I would have taken it. What do you expect these 16 year olds to do? Say "no mom I don’t want it"... I think not!

Hope nobody is offended, that is not what I come onto the forums to do.
Have a great day everyone! :D

I'll complaint when my insurance rate is hiked up because teenagers start wrecking more Sunlight Silvers, and the demographics of the car shift from late-20's / early-30s to high-teens.

#1: Why is there no auto climate control on U.S. spec RX-8s???
#2: The side windows have power retention after turning off the ignition but the sunroof doesn't. That's really annoying.
#3: The sunroof buttons are not illuminated.
#4: How much do you suppose it would have cost Mazda to put a light under the hood aimed in the general direction of the dipstick??

That's it... I love my car.

I totally agree with you on that. That does suck, but you have to realize that it is like that with any sports car, not just the RX8.

We just have to be careful and hope for the best.

You guys keep blaming the 16-18 crowd for the wrecks, but all the wrecks i see posted on this forum are by 30 something year olds... and the person who hit a train? i do not recall seeing any (i know there have been some inevitably) on this forum that has totalled or severly crashed their 8.

My parents bought me my car, and they currently pay for it. It was a present. Am i suppose to turn it down? Maybe I could have, but realisticly would any of you turn down an 8 or any other 30k car? Abbid u just make urself sound bitter when you make those kind of statements. I'll bet you that more "adults" have crashed their 8's in ratio to the 16-18 year old crowd.

second of all... the gas mileage on our car is not that bad. i average 18-19 mpg and i know others are as well. it just depend on your driving habits. Of course if you're constantly shifting at 5000rpms of course you're gonna get bad gas mileage. In my book 18-19 mpg is damn good seeing how even the scion TC gets about 18.
