Temp disable Autolock feature

I had the dealership turn on the autolock feature on my 06. (By the way, they did not charge me for that change). I like not having to do anything to lock the car as I walk away and it's always a conversation starter with passengers. What is bothersome is when it locks in the garage at home.

I have found that if I quickly move away from the door immediately after closing it, it doesnt lock, but this doesnt always work.

Has anyone found an easy way to disable autolock at home or other times when you dont want it to lock?

Ditto, same thing here. I had them program my car a week ago and did not think about it locking itself in the garage. I live in a 3-story home (no above-ground basement) and have to run upstairs to get my "smart key" to open the car everytime I need to open it.

Would appreciate a work-around as well, if anyone is aware of one.

Auto lock? WTF? Is that part of an aftermarket security thing, or is it now a standard feature on newer '8s?

I don't have any advice for you (except, maybe some scotch will help you through your troubles), but I saw the title and was curious.

2006 GT package feature. Solution is to always cary your card with you. Or maybe have the RF module inserted in your body.

It is a very useful feature to sometimes lock your car when walking away from it.
Maybe Mazda could come up with a set of dance steps to use when leaving your car that will always leave it unlocked.
