dont care to read 5 more pages so ill say this.
use to engine to slow down. but if your in 5th lets be smart about it. dont go into 2nd. go into maybe 3rd depending on speed and rev match then let off the gas and it will naturally slow don because of the gears.
as for rough shift. look up double clutch.
a rough outline is this
1. going in secong (or any gear) press in the clutch
2 shift into nuetral
3. rev the engine
4 upshift
5 press gas and your engine should be reving down and you pressing the gas will make for a smooth transition good for clutch as well
this process should take no more than a second or 2.
