The rx8 motor has a low tolerance level for synthetic oils and may cause severe engine damage.
It's even written on the block. Typically you can't see it from the top but if you remove your driver side wheel and look on the lower part of the block near the motor mount and powersteering resevoir there should be a label with it describing it in detail. Most people don't see it but that's because most never rebuild their motor themselves.
If you get a chance, you should jack up your car n' take a peek...that way you can say that you truly learned something unlike most of these dumbass spoon fed n00bs. Def worth your time.

You can use any oil you like if you sell your car and buy a honda. That would be my recommendation
