"Sweet ride!"

So, yesterday, I took the RX-8 to pick up my 7-year old son from after-care at school. As I pulled into a parking spot, a maybe 9-year old boy is walking to his mom's minivan and stops, gawping at my RX-8. He looks at me in the driver's seat and says, "Wow! That's one sweet ride!" I smiled and told him, "Thanks." I love how people react to my RX-8. Not very many of them on the roads around Lansing, MI.

Its that way in rural Ohio....people stare and its an easy conversation piece at a gas station....everyone has a Corvette and everyone knows one when they see one....but I honestly believe the RX8 is the most sexy car on the road

I get that from time to time. It's a sexy car, and not one that you run into every day. The sound gets people too, nothing else sounds like it, even at idle it sounds like a space craft.

Some kid on a dirt bike was driving down the road, I was driving in the opposite direction. We passed and he quickly yelled "LOVE YOUR CAR!"

Couldn't help but smile.

I love seeing people react to the 8...

I've had a couple of kids run over and yell "Cool car!" Lots of people with "wtf is that?" looks. My best is as follows though.

Driving home down my road slowly (10 mph speed limit) and there's a guy walking in the middle of the road. He hears my car and moves over to the side of the road and then turns to look. He just stops what he's doing, mouth open and stares at the car go past him. I can see him standing there in the same spot not moving until I made my turn a couple hundred feet down the road.

The 8 really is a sharp looking car and there aren't that many around over here I've seen yet... maybe 3-4 unique cars in the last 1.5 years I've lived in the area.

I am! Kids love the 8, that's for sure. Just waiting for one attached to a MILF ...

When my son was little, I bought a two-door Solara. After a life of minivans, bought for the kids, all his little buddies wanted to ride with me specifically for all the rigamarole of getting in an out of the back seat. Go figure.

Its something people dont see alot of, so they comment when they do. Nearly everytime I go through a drive-through for some food the person will comment on the car. Yesterday, the girl at Mcdonalds gave me two "woot woots" as I pulled up haha.

Exactly why I love our car. On Cape Cod it's very rare to see another RX-8. I can't tell you how many times I've had random people comment and ask questions over the past 3 years. The most common being, "Wow..that's a sweet paint job." I reply, "It's a factory color." They say, "No way!"

And now with my new theme I have kids saying to their parents, "Look at the race car."

Not to mention dropping my daughter off at her high school. Yea...tons of rubbernecking going on. Haha!

Yeah, I had a guy in a beat-up pickup truck gawping at my RX-8 last summer, and he asked me if the paint was factory (Sparkling Black Mica). The gold flake really does look pretty wild in bright sunlight.

When I first got the car , I would get some comments . Not many any more . I see a few more 8 around , that might have something to do with it .
