stripped zone different from redline?
Its like whats the difference between water and boiling water... (1 degree)
So the difference in the striped zone and the red zone is 1rpm.
Its not like your car automatically blows up at redline, but its there to help prevent stress on other components such as the transmission.

RX-8 Redline = 9000 RPM
Striped zone starts at 8500 RPM and starts to beep to tell you to shift soon. Pontiacs actually have a yellow "striped" zone as well on some of their cars. Same thing there.

Hey buddy your about to run out of the optimum power band...you need to shift if you want to continue to ride this ride...
but if I go into the dash to mess with it...I'll end up changing it out entirely...maybe replace it with a Jena Jameson Moaning sound, "oh god", "YES YES YES", or something...
Heh if I do it, I'll become a forum vendor and let you buy one from me...haa haa
