Meh, to each his own. I think it sounds sick, but not to be driven on the street, its something that should be confined to the track.

That would get extremely annoying after about 15 mins on a long drive. Though, if someone gave me a bike exhaust I wouldnt mind putting it on the the 8 just to see what it sounds like.

Sorry, my exhaust mod would have to come in the form of a 20B swap.

that WHOP WHOP WHOP can only be achieved with a large displacement race tuned engine.

BTW guys after posting the vid of the s2k over on bimmerforums I've found out that the video is doctored and the pitch is higher than it should be so its not really the actual sound. I say someone do it though.

no you n00b..if u read further into it, the sound was edited by raising up the pitch...search again on youtube and the real video shows up. The owner even admits to it.

I don't understand the desire for a noisy exhaust on an 8. All it will do is make sure that everyone notices how slow the acceleration is.

Unless, of course, you have a 3-rotor 20b with a turbo. Then you can make all the sweet noise you want.

If you drive slow though, no one really ever knows how fast or slow the 8 is anyways. They'll look at it and be like "Damn I bet that things fast" when I'm taking off from a light, and little do they know, I'm taking off with everything that 1.3 has to offer! lol

The 8 isnt THAT slow though, I look at what I paid for my 2004, compare it to say a 2004 mustang gt, and I'd say I got the better car for a lot less money. People just expect supercar performance out of something that doesnt come with a supercar price. This car isnt about speed either, its the handling...

Yeah, that's how I feel too. Nothing makes me laugh more than watching a riced out civic making a shitload of noise being passed on the right by an old beat up stock saturn.

That's why I keep saying I dislike the hks hi-power. When I went to the WC Mazda meet (We must have had 30+ rx-8s), my car was by far the loudest, and I had a turbo. It drew a lot of attention at the meet, but it is not something you want to be driving around with for the same reason.

We've moved in the other direction, less (no) port overlap.

Yea I dont really like obnoxiously loud exhausts either, but would be fun to drive for a day with some R1 pipes on the back, lol. I actually dont mind at all the way my 8 sounds with the stock exhaust, can hear the whine of the rotary clear as day like this, and love every minute of it. Kinda wish I could afford a turbo setup, that would be like a dream come true, but dont have 8000$ to dish out on a turbo, lol.

The smiles would never end if I could though. :D
