Was wondering whether anyone knows anything about a particular noise I hear whenever the RX-8 starts moving. Whenever I start the car and move, either forward or in reverse, an 'unlocking' type noise sounds within 2 or 3 seconds of the car moving off the mark. Has anyone else encountered this? Should I be worried about it? I've tried looking up the manual but can't seem to find anything. Thanks!

 

It is the sound of the brakes doing an 'ABS self test'.

Not just a sound, you can feel it thru the wheel!
