I can see where he thinks it looks purple, I can see a hint of purple in it. I don't think it's enough to call it "purple" though. For the most part it's obviously blue.

 

I like it a lot.

 

Well you have to see it in person it's from an angle that you see the difference. But it does look nice...

 

there's a purplish blue for the 3 i've seen that i really don't like. i wonder if folks are confusing the two.

 

That's Strato Blue and definately purple...

Stormy Blue is a deep rich blue with a bit of purplish...

 

same color... Both the '8 and the '3 come in Stormy Blue Mica for 07. Other than Phantom blue it is the only other blue on the 3.

Now there is also a real purple on the 08 '3, but nobody can be confusing that with a blue.

Or perhaps you are color blind if you don't see any purple in it since several other people that replied say they see the purple in Stormy Blue Mica as well.

 

Mazda3 has different shades of blue than rx-8 depend on if you got the speed3, 4 door or 5 door. I believe only Phantom blue is in common with RX-8 and Mazda5, but I don't recall any of the Mazda3 trim has Stormy Blue Mica color option.

Stormy Blue Mica is on Miata and CX-9, this is also a very common color they used in Miata and CX-9 brochure and Commercial.

 

i really don't. i mean, my car is stormy blue, and i see no purple.

 

i've seen a blue 08 miata next to mine, and that looked a bit purple whereas mine did not. so, um, i dunno. maybe it's not exactly the same.

I spent half an hour standing between a PB and a Stormy Blue before I could make a decision.

 

I personally, think the stormy blue is hott....

 

I got the 2007 stormy blue mica in July/07. I wanted another black, until I saw this new color. I have only seen one since. The first time I took it to the dealer I was asked if I had it painted that color. The second time I took it in I was asked by someone else if it was from the states. I get complimented on the car and the color on a regular basis. It looks amaxing in the sun.

 

The phantom blue looks a little better to me than the stormy blue mica.

Good color, less eye catching than WB but classier IMO. I would've considered it if it was available for the 05 MY. Dislike Phantom blue very much

 

I love it! My old car had that similar blue. Once clean its gorgeous.

stormy better than phantom imo. Phantom looks like some hideous shade of teal to me.
