If you do, what do you guys use to keep your oil jugs + funnel stuff in your trunk? I was using wal-mart bags, but the oil is just going right through them and getting on my tarp and other stuff in my trunk.

any suggestions?

the middle by pass thing. it can hold 3 oil bottles perfectly. or you can put 1 bottle and funnel in there. and if you get oil in there its easier to clean.

I keep a small funnel, and some paper towels in a small zip lock bag, and then have one quart of oil strapped in with the tire repair kit. Done this for 3 1/2 years and almost 70K miles - not a drop of oil anywhere...

i just throw it in there with cleaning supplies and crap, no spills yet.

I cut a Castrol bottle in half and use the top as a funnel, then nest it in the bottom half to catch drips. I keep it in between the space between the windshield washer tank and the fender.

I store my oil bottles near the exhaust tips attempting to catch and recycle the unburnt oil . Just use the tire inflation kit thing. Or get one of those bags to keep car cleaning supplies in. Get them at like Target or Walmart. Small Trunk organizer. I keep my oil, funnel and cleaning supplies in it.

I just use the little castrol bottles (the size escapes me) in a bag, If you are careful you dont need to use a funnel so there is no cleaning of that to be done

I just put an emergency quart of 5W-30 in the cubby in the trunk.

The oil bottle stays in the bottom tray, wedged in between a bunch of stuff. The funnel is kept inside the original plastic bag it came with (I make sure to wipe off the oil before returning it).

I do what Burton said: Castrol bottle, cap on tight, throw it in the trunk, no funnel. Haven't made a mess yet. To each their own.

I actually keep the oil, fennel and small paper towel roll inside a liquor box in the trunk. It's perfect because the box is short but tall and flat.

Next time you drive pass a liquor store, go inside and ask if they have any empty liquor boxes (they always do) that you can have. Then take your oil, fennel (which I keep inside a regular plastic bag) and put inside and in your trunk.

How about just tighten the cap on the bottle down? Problem solved. I could toss it behind my seat for any vehicle I've ever driven and it never leaks. Why should it leak? Unless you deformed or stripped a thread on the cap or the bottle, don't tighten it down or it gets punctured, not sure why you'd be having an issue.

I do this as well; Three bottles plus paper towel. I refill my 1 litre bottles from a four litre jug. As long as you fill them 3/4 of the way and no higher you'll be able to hit the oil filler every time and avoid spillage. No funnel required.

I store my oil, premix and the bottle i use to measure and add my premix in my cargo net. Took a couple of black zip ties and made holders for all 3 containers, so they will not tip over or spill.

I just put the Castrol GTX in a plastic bag and keep it in the trunk cubby hold. Works great. No spill. And even it leaks, the plastic bag will catch it.

I keep a bottle of 5w-30 under the hood to the left of the washer fluid bottle.

Not sure why you'd need a funnel. Bottles of oil are designed to pour smoothly.

Use a couple freezer gallon Ziplock storage bags and it should be fine. Once you pop the bottle open, just put a new one back in. I wouldn't put a partially open bottle back in my trunk unless I was on the road since the seal may not be 100%.

I live in the city and don't have a garage, so I keep a bottle—full or open—in the cargo net attached to rear of the trunk (the side right next to you when the trunk is open). Have never had a spill.
That said, if I had a garage I wouldn't store oil in the car. I mean, it's not like one day the oil level is gonna drop so suddenly that you can't wait to get home or pull into a gas station. I guess I might carry some if I were traveling though rural areas where it might be hard to find 5W-20.

honestly i just keep a castrol bottle under the seat, no spills and more convenient.

I managed to get the trunk storage bin used from another forum member, bottles of oil stay in either campartment under the lid and my trunk has a flush floor I like the tip of filling the bottles to 3/4, will do next time.
