I gave my 8 it's first hand wash and wax and noticed that the two trips to Maryland to see my new grandson resulted in a couple of small stone chips already. Has anyone bought the clear finish from the dealership that is supposed to limit the damage from stone chips etc? Are some products better than others? Any price ranges for our car? Any websites to research?

There were a few threads discussing this, but it seems the forum moderators hacked and slashed them together into one thread, Paint Protection Film . As you can see in that thread, I just had the XPEL kit installed on my RX-8 (prices listed in that thread). It uses the 3M Scotchcal film, which is very highly rated. XPEL ( www.xpel.com ) already has a template for the RX-8, but there are other companies who might be coming out with it soon - www.stoneguard.com is one for example.
