steering wheel has a mind of its own!!

It only seems to do it when its cold, now that I moved to salt lake city (much colder then tampa) its gotten worse. When I first start the car after sitting for a while (over night usually) if I turn the wheel to fast or something when pulling out of the parking spot it like shakes and turns all the way to the direction I was turning it. I can hold it in place but it still shakes. Now if I let it warm up for a good 5-10 minutes its not typically as bad but what the heck is going on haha. There havent been any other symptoms, the car is great in every way and it really doesnt bother me that much, just want to know what it is

What type of tires are you using? My early guess is that you are using a summer tire and the temperatures are below the recommended operating temperatures and the rubber on the tires are very hard.

Please provide tire type and size, it could only help the diagnosis.

Something took a hit on the drive from Tampa to Utah, maybe? Tie-rod, or just major alignment issue?

Hold it up to your screen so we can see it.

I have winter tires on it, It did it once in a while in florida where it did have performance tires although the temp hardly got below 50ish there.

It did it sometimes before the move to utah, not to mention it was towed on a full car trailer.

Tire size is something like 215/16/55 or something.. cheep rims with winter tires

When it's working properly, does the car track ok? is the steering wheel straight when the car is going straight?

I'm not sure whats up, but I'm leaning towards the power steering system being the problem here.

well I dont hear any funny sounds when it does it so the "knock" thing that guy said doesnt apply but the rocking/shaking sounds similar.

The car drives perfectly strait, steering wheel is strait no issues with that. Never had an issue with any suspension parts and everything is 100% factory

Noticed this while looking through the TSB list, and it might apply to your problem --->> TSB for "NOISE FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE / STABILIZER CONTROL LINK BROKEN"

That's too bad. Lawd knows if you have to rely on Mazda "technicians" it is hit or miss.
