Started pre-mixing my 2011 R3
A week ago I started pre-mixing with Protek-R on my 2011 R3. Right away I noticed a 'smoothing out' of the engine and it seems to be slightly 'peppier'. I have been checking for more soot than normal at the pipes and have noticed no difference. No flaming, just reporting observations.
^ Not exactly ... depending on the two stroke oil used, some burn cleaner than others and are "smokeless". Granted that doesn't mean there wont be ANY soot, but surely doesn't mean that there will be MORE

I might just be a total illusion, but I felt the engine sounded smoother after I started pre-mixing especially at higher RPM.
But I also feel the car has more horsepower after I wash it/wax it, so go figure

It may be hard to quantitatively measure more "smoothness" after using Protek-R premix, but the engine internals are being lubricated better, so it would follow that it would run smoother. I have used Protek-R for years in my rotaries ,having owned seven rotaries, and I also feel the engines rev easier.
It may be a purely subjective, but what is NOT subjective is that I have never had any engine troubles or a rotary engine failure while using Protek-R premix. Pettit Racing has loads of experience with street and race rotaries, and Protek-R is the result of years of rotary research and actual driving . It works for me ! And because it is a patented synthetic formula made to completely combust in rotary engines, you will NOT see any white ash coming out of your exhaust, I never have in years of use.

The only other brand that claims the same is Royal Purple. Apparently they have done research too with rotaries.
But I theory, any Premix that has the right specifications should work just fine.

Pettit racing's Protek-R or some other good brand, it is a personal choice. I have owned seven rotary cars and can tell you Protek-R works for me. But get what you prefer, just premix. premix.premix.

The point is that, even though I felt a "smoothness" in my engine as well, in reality it would be very hard - if not impossible - to make a direct correlation between engine sound decibels and the use of pre-mix. Yes, the engine is better lubricated with premix, but we are talking about 4-6 oz of oil blended with 15 plus gallons of gas. Not enough to make the case. I guess it would be different for people who use twice the amount of premix - or more - when they race their cars at the track.
So at the end it may be more of a subjective thing. And it is true many people feel their cars run better after they wash them
Anybody can claim anything, that's why there's a huge market out there of thousands of products that are supposed to do all kinds of things: fuel products, oil additives, etc. It is like going to buy multi-vitamins, they all claim to do something!!!But at least the Protek-R and Royal Purple have been subjected to testing and research that shows their benefits in regards to better engine lubrication.
But they used UPS, so it arrived during the same week I placed the order.
