Started car, then stalled.. no flood?

So I was at a buddy's place, street parked on a hill. I put the car in first gear just in case, and as I was leaving in a hurry, forgot that I did that and sure enough, stalled when I released the clutch pedal right after starting..

Funny thing is, she didn't flood. I thought for sure she would, especially in this weather. Anyone has an idea as to why this happened? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I started cranking it like immediately after I stalled it?

something like that happened to me too. I was driving after warming my car for 1 minute and of course under the gay canadian winter weather, i was just in first going really slow and i was trying to get my gps from glove box but it was really far and let the clutch and the car stalled and didnt flood and i guess i wont complain about it :p

Yeah, it definitely doesn't happen every time..... And I have always been under the impression that it usually has to sit for a while after being shut off too soon before it floods. I think flooding is more of an issue when it comes to cutting it off on purpose and leaving it there than it is about stalling out.

Plus with some of the updates that have been made since they first came out, flooding isn't nearly as much of a problem as it was originally. Some of the lower amount of flooding problems probably comes from the fact that people are more aware of how to avoid it now too though.

again, just because the engine CAN flood, it doesn't mean it will. Please, don't make a habit of turning your car off when cold. It MAY just be a matter of time... Then again, you may just have good ignition
