Great, is this car gonna be the next 240SX where all the "*** and Hilarious" movie lovers will want one? I can see the resale value slowly going up....
Go ahead and race. So by the time my car needs any replacement parts I can simply go to junk yard.
Just make sure you don't hurt anyone when you crush your car, drive down the cliff is one of the option.

At 1st glance the auto RX-8 looks sportier and faster, but we use to call cars like the VW GTI SLEEPERS. Unless your car was a 6 speed and you have some engines modification DON"T RACE THIS GUY FOR TITLES!!!! Unless you just need a tax deduction taking a loses (I don't know if you can take that kind of lost, but maybe gambling is gambling) anyway.
A stock automatic RX-8 is not going win this Race with a mod or new GTI. If you want to Win burrow somebody 350Z or Corvette or better yet Race him with your 9 sec Nova!!
Change the bet to $20, this experience is worth $20 but no more, you have been warned. Don't Race him for titles, straight line slightly better driving skills may not be enough.

his car is an 06 I believe, and like normal GTI, and yes, drunken days get you pwned on this forum

Based on my experience............GTIs can be underrrated at the factory stock........and if it's a 1.8T.........then forget about it. An Auto RX-8 will be beat off the line very quickly. A manual RX-8 and GTI may fare better, altho i think it will all have to come down to the driver considering most "stock" GTIs hit 0-60 mark at around 7ish seconds and so does the RX-8 if you aren't launching at a high RPM to begin with. GTI for the win! esp if an RX-8 an auto

In an auto, and without being harsh, You're going to get beaten pretty bad... "Speed Only" the GTI is a pretty quick (read: fun, not scary) lil car...
perhaps you should test drive one with the DSG gearbox and see how you enjoy it, from what i can tell you may actually like the torque delivery more in the GTI than in your RX8...
good luck though... if you win... drink lots... if you lose... drink even more...
