Special 8's spotted!
I saw two cool RX 8s at Menlo Mazda in the Bay Area yesterday.
I saw the white in the flesh. They have an auto GT sitting out front. Surprisingly dirty though. White really doesn't do anything for me. It would look better with a dark tint in the windows, but you'ld have to get it out of CA, as the proper tint is not legal here. Seemed kind of plain and uninspired. But that is how I usually feel about white.
They also had a lightening yellow on the show room floor. It was a MT sport package with most exterior mods (spoiler, appearance, rotary, etc...). They had the interior custom fit with after market black and yellow leather. Yellow stitches in the black portions. Door panels and everything, just like the factory two tone leather design. The only thing not done like the factory was the steering wheel. The car looked very sharp. The yellow really brightened up the interior of the car. The leather is better than the OEM stuff too. It felt very good. Bay Area people interested in this type of customization should check it out. If I wasn't leasing, I would have this work done to my car, and I usually prefer the cloth. I could get a really sharp blue and black two tone.
