Any year is fine as long as its a MT....Automatic's go with 06 or newer....and I'm about 6'2" and fit in my Sport WITHOUT sunroof but have plenty of room if i would have one...

In terms of a manual, as long as the recalls have been performed on an 04, they are no less reliable than an 05 or newer.
If you're getting an auto, 06 or newer due to the increased horsepower, 6 ports instead of 4, and increased reliability.
Manual, any year will do.
the 04s went through so many flashes... who knows how long it was driven with some of the first not oiling enough flash.

that is my logic on it.

I'm a hair over 6'. I had an '04 Touring and there was loads of headroom. Now I have a '07 GT and it's a little close. As a previous poster said, if it's been a while since I got a haircut I can tell. But I can find a good seat position with the seat down low that works fine. At 5'9" you should have no problem. I think the difference must be in the power seat of the GT vs the manual seat of the Touring I had. They both had sunroofs.
