When I got my first speeding ticket, had a van fly past me on the highway and some other cars were tailgating me, I drive down a hill and boom! 5 police cars waiting.. I went and took the exit and well, one of them sounded their siren and pulled me over. I was clocked at 75 on a 55. Since it was my first time, I took off my seatbelt before he arrived and made matters worse.. I wanted to say the van was going faster than me but I chickened out.

Oh and I was the only one who got pulled over.. Why the F were there 4 other cops?
You suck soccer mom..

I just got my 8 last week and have been pretty cautious about speeding. I do my redlines on turnpike onramps to avoid getting snagged on the road. Normally sit around 74 in a 65 havent had any trouble yet, and I pass 3 cops a day minimum.

I know its inevitable, though.

lol as for being picked out. I was coming back home to iowa from tx *a weekend vacation* and was in kansas in some small town, as im passin thru *not speeding* a cop see's me and pulls out and starts following me, then decides to pass me. Now about 3 miles up the road he turns around waits for me to pass him gets back up on me follows me for 2 miles then turns his lights on. then when he comes up to my window he said my *tags* werent showing up i nthe system and asked me if i just got the car. I said no iave had it almos 3.5 years. give him my info then comes back and is like wel lhave a good night, sorry about tht, must be the computer......

Cant they just be like well i wanted to pull you over for no reason to check your car out?? lol

You must not live around a military installation because my id NEVER works. I live outside of Fort Rucker in alabama and the cops love the military guys. They dont ever leave em alone. And when you try to show the military id, they scoff and say "does that make you better than everyone else"...i messed up one time and said "yea actually it does"...lol yea i got a ticket.

I got picked out of a crowd at 3pm on the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE.

I was supposedly as the bike cop that PACED me said "doing 70something in a 45". Which he then changed to 60 something out of 'being nice'. I didn't believe it for a minute.

Seriously? 70+ in a 45 at 3pm on the Golden Gate Bridge? You have got to be kidding me.

I asked him if he could let me off with a warning since I had no idea I was going that speed he said no and made me sign the ticket.

Took that one to court and got it dismissed thankfully.

I guess it depends on the branch your with.

A friend of mine who is in the Marines just recently came back. Bought an older MR2 that night and met a few other guys and I up. We chilled for awhile and decided to head home. He then starts a small drift, " big empty parking lot at around midnight" completes one figure eight and parks the car, then as if on cue, we see a squad car pull up next to him with lights/sirens on.

The rest of us are standing there thinking, yep hes f**ked. 5 mins pass, the LEOs leave. He came out smiling, he said that they will let him off with a warning.

But on a serious note it's because of the stoplights & dumb folk in shitty cars - they ruin it for us all.

^^Thats sucks. Pretty bad u intentionally leave it off so you dont get additionall harrassment by the Law. Sad really.

I use to get guys whipping out their military ID's when i worked the door at a club in Hollywood. I think they thought i was ex-military and that they would get special treatment, IDK. Even though i wasnt i still tried to hook them up one way or the other...as long as they werent ******

A lot of times at bars I'll hand the bouncer my ID and a 20 and he'll give me back a 10, 5 and 5 1s just to make it look like I actually paid. :D

I consider myself extremely lucky cuz god knows I can't afford any tickets. It all depends on your attitude. The cops have much better things to do than pull over people for speeding. They'd rather not waste their time with you. If its something obviously and bluntly wrong, yeah they'll probably give you a ticket. If its something minor, they'll probably let you off with a warning just to scare you. They have much bigger fish to fry.
You are incredibly lucky wow

Update! Almost got stopped again I live upcountry and have to drive to town for work(5am). My car seems to coast down at 70 without pressing any gas. Spotted a cop on the side of the road(Too late to hit the brakes or down shift). I passed the cop car and seen him gas it to catch me. He was parked on the side of the road in a little down hill grade. He was just their spinning tires/stuck, boy I'd better start to slow down

I too also have an update. Its the most ridiculous fix it ticket ever.

So last Thursday I was driving home from a night out with some friends in the downtown area of San Jose at around midnight. A squad car was on the other side of the road heading in the opposite direction, and he goes and busts a U, and starts following me for 2 lights.

Finally he lights up and I pull over, and here is where it all begins..

Cop- Is this your car?
Me- Yes, I bought this not too long ago, It should be regestered under my name.
cop- Are you sure you didn't steal this then?
Me- Umm yea I'm pretty sure, let me get my reg card out of the glove box to prove it..

here the officer takes my ID and my reg away and comes back 10mins later, and he gives back the reg card and ID.

Cop-So how much have you had to drink today?
Me- Oh I was the DD, I did not have any alcohol what so ever.
Cop- Then you won't mind breathing into this.
"Hands me a breathalizer, and I comply... 0.0 shows up.."

Here I'm thinking okay, I'm downtown on a club night, and **** does go down, so this is cool. Probably just checking for drunk drivers, or there is a theft in the area and I match the description. Even better right? At least they are actually looking for the stolen 8. Then he asks me to pop my hood...This is where I'm pretty sure he is looking for a problem. I get kinda ticked and respond.

Me- Well whats the probable cause for you to check whats under my hood? Since your asking I know you don't have the right to search my car...
Cop-Well if you don't have anything to hide, what are you afraid of?
Me- Fine, take a look for yourself, I have nothing to hide.

He then points out the engine cover, and says.

Cop- What are you trying to hide with those on? An engine swap?
Me- I believe those are for looks that came OEM. I'll remove them for you if its a problem.
Cop- "Sees my Optima Yellow top" Why do you need that battery? Its too powerful for a stock car...
Me standing there dumbfounded- Its just a battery sir, I'm not sure where your going with this..
Cop- Well I see you have HIDs, you know those are illegal in California right?
Me- Sir, first of all, those are OEM, they comply with the color regulation and secondly, I'm sure most cars of this time and age have them stock. I had no choice in the matter, honestly.
Cop-Well I'm going to give you a fix it ticket. After which, he takes off. Leaves me there to put back my covers in the streets alone.

Worst part is, he didn't even sign the ticket.. He is just wasting my time!!

Sorry for the long post, I just had to vent lol.
